Re: DP and Warrington
It's like he is on a mission to ruin the club I said at the time to sign his old cas mates Holmes matautia and minikin was a disaster waiting to happen
Everytime I've watched Warrington Holmes and Matautia have been amongst the three or four worst players on the pitch but no matter how bad they play there undropable as we saw at cas his favorites play every game no matter what

Re: DP and Warrington
I'm not sure why the coach that brought us our best period of success since the late 60's, early 70's receives so many poor comments but hey ho, he chose his route and must deal with the consequences.
He can change clubs around but the Warrington project does look to be taking longer than anticipated. I'm not disappointed to see the club struggle but do remain puzzled by the lack of success for a very good coach.

Re: DP and Warrington
I think the manner in which he left caused a bit of the ill feeling.
We allowed him to leave with a year left on his deal & in return he took Holmes, Matautia & young Noah Booth - as well as back room staff. He also unsettled Truman; not that I think he wouldn’t have left anyway & in hindsight; we should’ve took the money.
It just left a bit of a sour taste for me is all.

Is he gone if Toulouse beat them tonight?

Re: DP and Warrington
Changing a coach now with half a dozen games left will make no difference what so ever.
They’ll give him 10 games next season. If there’s no improvement I think he’ll be gone.
As for tonight, I think wire will win.

Disagree. I don't think those players are playing for him. New coach, new bounce. There is a reason teams go on runs after a change of coach. If they have someone lined up I wouldn't be surprised if they hit the panic button with the prospect of relegation.old cas lass wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 10:20 Changing a coach now with half a dozen games left will make no difference what so ever.

Re: DP and Warrington
I think Powell has until around Easter time next season to prove his worth. He’s had this season to get rid of his ‘bad apples’, start implementing his culture change and build his squad. The pressure on him next season to be around the top of the table from game 1 will be immense.

I still think with 6 games to go a new coach would make no difference at all.
I agree there’s something fundamentally not right at the club.
Maybe shipping out to many players at once didn’t help.
Made the team disjointed.

I agree. All the messing about we did the first time we got relegated with Hanley, Mercer etc made no difference at allold cas lass wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 10:20 Changing a coach now with half a dozen games left will make no difference what so ever.

Re: DP and Warrington
I don't think his immediate future is in question unless they lose tonight, so may be a pointless discussion.. especially as their points difference over Toulouse gives them some breathing space.Tamworth Tiger wrote: ↑11 Aug 2022, 12:24I agree. However, if they do lose and badly, the board have to look at the immediate situation. Do they risk catastrophe under Powell knowing they didn't act, or do they make a big call knowing a win or two under the 'new coach bounce' keeps them up?
