any news from the Axium stadium meeting last night?
I don’t see why they would release any news, it was only a consultation and all the info can be found on this website where you can send your feedback….

Another club but relevant to our project.
https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/ ... bid-plans/
£20m of ‘levelling up’ funding used to update Odsal. I think this is very, very unlikely to be approved. £20m would have covered this twenty years ago but wouldn’t even touch the sides now. Wakefield are spending £12m on one stand & we’re planning on spending a similar amount on a four sided stadium (which I think will have to be revised). How on Earth would £20m pay for a revamped Odsal with a full roof?
Whilst I’m really proud of the steps we’ve taken, my fear is that we’re gonna be impacted by the impending recession. We’ve got the worst luck! We’ve hit every major crisis since 2008 & each has pushed back or killed our plans in the cradle.
Hope we get an update in the coming days/weeks.

the problem is we seem to keep waiting for a crisis to happen & there will always be one, so if we dont do something we will never get it built

Let’s hope the recession doesn’t put companies off from signing up. Without them, the project won’t get past the fancy drawing stage- we’ve been there before & deserve far more after decades of waiting, broken deadlines & false dawns.

As I’ve said on here before big projects only happen when all ducks(planning, tenants, funding etc) are all in a row . It can happen quickly or take years and things can stop or start at very short notice. That isn’t going to change

The 1st September is next Thursday. I seem to recall reading that the Planning Application was to be made this month, not long left.

It has to happen- simple as that.
My big fear is that the impending financial crash will cripple us twice over. We’re going to be up against it with the rising cost of construction as we move toward the crash & then again after it has occurred. Being hit again by the markets (after the credit crunch put the waystones project to bed & then Brexit & a pandemic killed of the first axiom development) would be a catastrophically unfortunate run of luck.
In terms of our nearest & dearest, I have always seen their development as a treat to our development. The further ahead they are, the more opportunity they have to apply for further funding streams, which may be detrimental to us when we’re applying. Everyday they work on their reconstruction is an increased threat to us.

We've had 15 years of it in some degree or the other I will believe the work that needs to be done is been done( like what's happening at Wakey )when I see it happening

We’ve had over 20 years. I remember a potential move to Whitwood in the late 90s

I'd forgot all about that over 20 years and counting since we were first told we were getting a up to date stadium bloody hell

The fact we haven’t got a date for our application to be heard tells us that we’ve not submitted the application yet. If you consider the rising costs, we might have to scale back our expectations. If a new four sided ground cost £12m two years ago, we could be looking at nearly £20m now.
With the way things are going axiom might be giving the situation time based on the financial state of the nation.
Bottom line: we have to get going while those next door are making progress.

So if your saying the application as not been submitted, why come out and say a couple of months ago it’s going in in august.
Just keep your gobs shut until summat concrete as happened.

why can't the board go out and get some investment into the club instead of waiting for a freebie that may or may not happen.if licensing comes in we are gone.
