Re: Olpherts to Leeds ?

He's played well last two games but he's mainly been a average kind of player at Cas makes a lot of meters but I'm surprised Leeds are after him if that report is true

We've had there pants down if we've got a good young prospect in Broadbent and off loaded a 30 year old Olpherts

He's played better over the last few games, possibly the old 'need a new contract' scenario but with what we have, I wouldn't break the bank to keep him.

Agree, has as Richardson and Hampshire.
Both looking at winning a new contract, both playing out of their skin.
Not sure what will happen with Hampshire now.

Olpherts

Most tackle busts in the whole of Superleague this year

3rd most carries

9th most metres made

Still seems like many Cas fans under rate him to me. Yes he can be a liability at times in defence but I think he's gone pretty well this year bar a few hiccups.

He’s been very good these last two games, but he lets in far too many try’s. Two good games does not make up for how bad he has been this season and last season

Let’s not forget.
When a player is out of contract at the end of the season.
They tend to put more effort in to prove they are worth an extension.

Hampshire and Richardson both upped their game this year, has as Olpherts.

To be fair Hampshire has given his all to Trinity, no upping his game, consistently good

I've rated him for the last 2 seasons.

Like Massey, very underrated by fans.

For those old enough ' Gripper' was a similar player.
You missed him most when he wasn't there.
I remember Peter Small

The leeds coach as been in the country a few months he will have seen olpherts look a decent enough player
He will have missed I would imagine in the years before that his terrible defensive reads dropped balls and knock ons
Even if leeds get the player of the last two months I'm surprised they have signed him

Losing Olpherts isn’t such a big deal.
We have a better player coming through QQ.
If radford gives him more game time, I’m sure he’ll be our winger for many more years to come.
He’s all ready showing his potential.
