The demand for storage and distribution units in the Wakefield district is through the roof. Sitting centrally between the M1, M62 and A1(M) means there is easy access to the rest of Yorkshire and beyond.

There's huge potential at Glasshoughton but there may still be issues with the change of land use...

There will be issues so hopefully that will mean that the whole £8 million for planning gain for building on green belt will remain on the table

I read this as the pitch size is staying as is

Jon Wilkin will be happy as he won't need to invent a new reason to denigrate Cas

No mention of the amount of funding to be provided for the ground upgrade in addition to the £2m from WMDC.
Will we get £8m same as Trin got?

Where do you think Trinity got the £8M from?

From the developer?
Why do you ask?
My question is how that figure was arrived at and should we be looking at a similar sum?

Does anyone think that the club should re open the ‘buy a brick’ scheme for newer fans etc… that weren’t around / too young to afford etc… the first time round? I have one from the original scheme but would definitely buy another couple for Mum and Dad if they re opened it - every penny counts.

They will have to hand over The cash before they even start construction on the units... Exactly the same as for the original plans. This time with it being industrial units it won't be made public who they are, like it was with high street shops etc

How much we end up getting is the 64,000 dollar question in all this

Indeed a lot of false dawns over the last twenty years promises brocken and some comments trying to lead people down the garden path along the way I think most people take the view now I will believe it when I see it

We have you are right , but If this one falls through it’s quite simple we won’t be a Super League Club for much longer.

this is the problem & im surprised the planners haven't taken to opportunity to get the pitch to the right size as this could be another thorn in our side for future super league criteria :?:

funds there are a number of avenues that can be pursued to get extra funding sport England is one there are a number more , my son as done a great job for Normanton Knights raising enough money for new changing rooms draining and seeding of two pitchers a disabled toilet among loads of other things

Agree with you there, Yorky. With a total revamp its difficult to understand that they are not lengthening the pitch - surely there is enough room at the Railway end to do it?

Presumably because it would be a lot more expensive to move the terracing than do it up?

I get the cost argument, but we will never get a better opportunity to get the pitch dimensions up to the required standard. For me; I wouldn’t give the RFL any opportunity to kick us with something so basic.
