Solid start for Hudds. Could be more up than 6. Wigan don't look in it yet.

Shame Lolohea has missed those two kicks, 14-6 would have been a great lead. Still, Hudds look good.

If Wigan cut out the mistakes I think they will come back, but Hudds defensive pressure has caused a lot of that. Pretty simple tactics from Watson but as we've found out before, that's what wins cup finals.

Can somebody tell me how smithies didn't deserve a yellow for at least one of those head shots?

Any other player of a club apart from Wigan would have been sat down for 10mins or even a red card after the second one. He's an absolute grub who wants sorting out old school 👊

Smithies should hopefully cop a ban for at least 1 of them shots for our game next week..... hopefully they may rest a few too.

So frustrating isn’t it? You don’t have to know too much about the game to see that there was genuine intent to make contact with the head in both incidents and he shouldn’t have finished the game.

You can only put it down to sheer incompetence by the referee, the linos (who were only a few feet away) and, on a broader level, Ganson who is responsible for the performance level of officials.

On a related topic, I thought the BBC commentary team were poor yesterday - especially Brian Noble who is becoming an embarrassment. Using phrases from the 70’s like “mush” & “melon” while describing those head shots in an era when head injuries are rightly being given the focus they deserve, shows a real lack of emotional intelligence.

All the above has a negative impact on the professional image our sport - especially when compared to the other code.

I agree about the commentary for the main final but thought the 1895 team particularly John Kear were excellent and certainly better than the out of touch, biased Sky team. Shame the BBC hid it on the red button. Also thought that in general both games were a good advert for RL

I take it that’s an attempt at sarcasm? The field measures 105 by 68 metres so it’s plenty big enough for a RL game

Him and that grub Bentley make me laugh they think there hard coming in with cheap shots both of them would have been sorted out as you put it a long time ago back in the day

Jai field was talking about the size of the field in an interview. Said it’s the same size as the elland rd pitch. And he’s looking forward to all the space he’ll have to play in.
