Pop ups
Pop ups
I seem to get annoying pop ups (mainly RU stuff) on this forum that I just can not delete. Anyone else, or is it just me? Any ideas to get rid?
Be reasonable - do it my way!
Re: Pop ups
I don't know if it's better for people who have a more up-to-date mobile but on my mobile it's almost impossible to navigate the site for ads or pop ups if that's what there called

Re: Pop ups
same here, i find it difficult to use the site on my ipad as pop-ups & adverts are making it difficult to browse. i tried to install a "ad blocker" but my ipad wont let me & all this seemed to start around 3 weeks ago, its ok on my computer as i have an ad blocker installed?
Re: Pop ups
AdGuard Pro (iOS) is the way to go, and its plugins whilst using Safari browser (on iOS)...
Difficult though, as I know that running a forum isn't free, and that the adverts help pay for the hosting, domain etc...
There's a fine lone though between adverts that don't interfere too much with the browsing experience, and those that completely dominate the screen and eventually make you give up.

Re: Pop ups
I find pop ups are an absolute bane.
But one's for Kick and clap on a Cas RL site is beyond the pale.
Hope someone can show them the red card.

Re: Pop ups
I use the free version of AdGuard on iPhone and iPad and don’t get any adverts/pop ups. Web pages also load a lot quicker due to no graphic intense ads having to load

Re: Pop ups
They take up half of my screen and maybe its time to take a break from constant holiday adds.
If enough people walk away the site may even get back to a more balanced adve regime.

Im glad someone has brought this up, They are a nightmare and have been for last month or so, every time i try click on something an ad pops up right where i was about to click n it takes me away from the site. We have always had ads but they used to be small ones at top of screen, now i have them at top and bottom with random pop ups also.

Re: Pop ups
thats my thoughts too, for instance there is a gap at the top of this page before the topics start & because i have a "free" ad blocker on my computer the gap is blank, however on my ipad it is filled with an advert & if i ty to scroll down the page i end up clicking on the ad, then the chaos startsjackknife wrote: ↑25 May 2022, 17:17 Im glad someone has brought this up, They are a nightmare and have been for last month or so, every time i try click on something an ad pops up right where i was about to click n it takes me away from the site. Re: Pop ups
Just a heads up as I no longer operate the forum it might be worth getting in touch with the user account ‘admin’ who now runs the site. They are causing pop ups and other large gaps etc in the content.
For website related issues or queries please contact the admin account as I no longer own or maintain Casforum.
Re: Pop ups
i contacted the admin this morning Matt, but as yet i have had no response.
Re: Pop ups
They'll be getting paid for them, that's why they have suddenly appeared. Enough traffic thru the forum , so advertisement companies will pay. Very annoying, all the same. Ruined the forum to be fair.

Re: Pop ups
I never read them, they can put as many as they want I don’t read one.
Re: Pop ups
I dont read them but the cover my phone screen by more than half n make it difficult to actually read the forum and the pop ups keep catching me out. Its just annoying as hell.
