Another signing for next year so im told, similar player to Alex Sutcliffe imo both solid enough players but a little on the light side.

This was in the Yorkshire Live report that said we’d signed Broadbent

Very steady player and nothing more. Didn't look anything special at Huddersfield and certainly hasn't at Leeds. I hope this isn't a signing because we've not been able to keep Edwards.

Surely he'd be a replacement for Blair if anyone, but I feel that we've already too many options in the back row as it is. I'd be looking at a halfback that can control a game and a prop that takes three tacklers to stop him. We're lacking this. That said, if Radford goes and buys a big nasty prop it'll just reinforce the "5 drives and a kick" when we're meant to be classy Cas

Your big nasty prop should be used to get you on the front foot with quick play the balls which then opens up the space to spread the ball across the back line.

Wattsy needs using carefully now but he could pass on a wealth of experience to a couple of young guns, eager to stand up to the likes of Walmsley.

Castleford Tigers are set to make Alex Mellor their next signing for 2023 after overcoming competition to sign the Leeds Rhinos forward. Rugby League Live understands Cas have landed the 27-year-old, who is off-contract at the Headingley club at the end of the season.

Might as well call us Leeds rejects.

Not worked out at Leeds but was very good at Huddersfield, hopefully we can see his Huddersfield performances again. Nevertheless it’s an upgrade on Blair who’s absolutely garbage.

Got to be better than Blair and hope he makes more of an impact than our 2 Leeds reject recruits we got for this season.

He was injured most of the time at Leeds. Was a good player when at Huddersfield. Can he play centre aswell as 2nd row ?

No necessarily. In a salary capped sport, players are sometimes let go for reasons other than they’re “not very good”.

He’s a decent enough player but to me he seems to fulfil the same role in the squad as Sutcliffe does (or should). Obviously more use than Blair but not sure whether he is actually required. Still welcome to Cas, hope he goes well.
