Re: Trueman
I think this is my overriding feeling. Young and has some ball skills. But the sort of Injury he has come back from casts a big doubt over how long he will last too.Classysupercas6202 wrote: ↑09 May 2022, 18:00 Think we can do better, goes missing too much for me too, poor kicker, and doesn't take the line on enough.
The other issue as mentioned is: we have to replace with a field general- proper quality half back who can take the game by the scruff of the neck and pose a threat.
If we let him go and then stick Mclleland and Richardson back there then I cannot see how we will be good enough to push for finals and trophies.

Id be a bit pee'd off if the plan is to let Trueman go and replace him with Miller from wakey.

Re: Trueman
Miller for me is a loose cannon i dont think he knows what he is doing till it happens , trying to find a top class half back is hard look at Leeds and Warrington they have invested big with little reward
Re: Trueman
Apparently Radford has connections throughout the RL world so I would expect him to be able to find one from somewhere
Re: Trueman
Same as was said on here yesterday the plan can't be to cobble together a half back partnership from what we've got all ready not if we want to be a team other teams fear next season
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

Re: Trueman
Milky miller has the worst defence I've seen from a half back this season. A real weak link
We may need to delve into the NRL for a half back pairing.
Whats the quota situation and what are we allowed

Re: Trueman
I’ve said before i’d have no problem with Miller signing as long as its alongside a more organising style half, probably from the NRL. Lachlan Lam is out of contract and looked good for the Roosters last year but has dropped back down the pecking order with Luke Keary now being fit. I’d be looking at him to pair alongside him if possible.
There aren't that many halves off contract in Australia who would qualify for a work permit, to think we’d be able to bring two in is a bit far fetched. You also have bear in mind their family situation and then hope they settle over here. Not an issue with Miller and with Lam already has family over here. Perfect duo for me, go get it done!

Re: Trueman
I'm undecided on Miller - on one hand he seems to lead his side down a blind alley half the time and the rest of his team haven't a clue what he's doing (I don't think he does either!). On the other hand he is capable of conjuring up that moment of brilliance that is needed at times. Wakeys pack, with the exception of Fifita, isn't the best at getting go forward and so Miller is often working on the back foot. Maybe, behind a more dominant pack, he would be a bit more organised?

Re: Trueman
“Expecting”
This is Cas - I’d expect us to sign one - Who’s arguably not as good or have the same potential.
Good halves cost a lot of money, And we need a squad not just a couple of marquee halves
I’d hope we’d find someone from Australia, But I can’t imagine we’ve the pull or funds to lure anyone who’s going to set the league alight.
I’d also enquire about the availability of Jordan Abdul. While he signed a new deal last season. He’s no longer first choice at Hull Kr with Rowan Milnes and Mikey Lewis getting more game time.

I’m confused, why do all the club coaches rate Trueman, and we don’t want him.?
Re: Trueman
Hes stil young with potential. He has a great highlights reel but unfortunately we've seen the amount of times hes gone missing in games.

Re: Trueman
I think one option might be closer to home, more attainable and take up less of the salary cap.
Ollie Russell looks like he’s becoming a great half-back, and also a top class goal kicker.
