Lobby the council… it’s with them now.
Re: Stadium
I'd be very surprised if we can start doing anything for a couple of years anything significant anyway but let's see what happens with this not new ground but re-build ground project ...

Re: Stadium
That sounds sensible, but if, as would seem likely, the demolition of the main stand is involved, it’s going to be very tight to demolish, including in particular, specialist work such as asbestos and other pollutant removal, clear the site, do the groundworks build the stand and kit it out in the time available in the close season. I would be amazed if they haven’t got contingency arrangements in place. A prolonged spell of bad weather could on its own knock the whole schedule out of syncHuddsTigers wrote: ↑17 Apr 2022, 09:47 I imagine it will be done staggered with the main stand stand coming down in the off season so as not to cause issues for fans. Get that ready for the new season, and then we can maximise hospitality and money for our home games.
The logical order in my mind is then Railway End covered, moving fans into either new main stand or Princess St. Once complete then Wheldon Road End, which will allow home fans to swap ends and keep biggest stand open in Princess St.
Finally Princess St end back end of season ready for 2024?
That’s unless they can’t do it in two stages with both sides at once and then both ends at once?

I think we could do like other clubs and have a month of away games to start 2023.Tamworth Tiger wrote: ↑17 Apr 2022, 10:57That sounds sensible, but if, as would seem likely, the demolition of the main stand is involved, it’s going to be very tight to demolish, including in particular, specialist work such as asbestos and other pollutant removal, clear the site, do the groundworks build the stand and kit it out in the time available in the close season. A lot will rely on planning but if we can start at season’s end (Sept/Oct) that would give us almost half a year and I imagine a lot will be in place to start from the final whistle of the last game if so.
I just can’t see the club paying out for extortionate rent elsewhere if we can make it safe to play there.
As for planning, I just popped on for a day or two but I doubt I’ll be sticking around / commenting too much on this for the reasons illustrated in this thread. It is divisive and I can’t be bothered with it. Much rather talk about the games.

I agree in principle on all the points, but timescales on contracts like these can and do slip significantly.HuddsTigers wrote: ↑17 Apr 2022, 11:43I think we could do like other clubs and have a month of away games to start 2023.Tamworth Tiger wrote: ↑17 Apr 2022, 10:57That sounds sensible, but if, as would seem likely, the demolition of the main stand is involved, it’s going to be very tight to demolish, including in particular, specialist work such as asbestos and other pollutant removal, clear the site, do the groundworks build the stand and kit it out in the time available in the close season. Nothing divisive about that, just speaking from experience.

Re: Stadium
I know I don't post many comments but on this topic. I have noted no one has thought about the increase in length of the pitch to conform with standards, which would require the total demolition of the railway end and the re-siting of the players pitch tunnel to centraliise the new stand. Has anyone any thoughts on this. My main tthoughts are they have the opportunity now to conform with with the required standards and get this monkey off our backs.
Re: Stadium
I asked a very similar question; the response is there is no room to change the length of the pitch - the area behind the railway end is necessary for the broadcast partners' equipment. The pitch is Super League standard (apparently) so will remain as-is.

Re: Stadium
Money wont change hands in till the land owners have def got tennants if turning it to commercial units which could take years
Re: Stadium
The money is there, apparently, as soon as the council grant permission. The developers are happy to be put on record to agree to put the money into Escrow as soon as the ink is dry on the council approval.Blackbulltiger wrote: ↑17 Apr 2022, 18:20 Money wont change hands in till the land owners have def got tennants if turning it to commercial units which could take years
