Re: Stadium
The bottom line is that as long as market conditions are right, and there is a proposal to do a major development on Green Belt requiring a community contribution in compensation for allowing this development, this was always possible. I never really understood why the planners didn’t look at this option right at the start. I thought that it had to be linked to the current owners wanting capital money out of the existing site. Hopefully they are happy to take the interest going forward.

Re: Stadium
I’m still keeping my old cynic head on for now.
I’ll believe it when I see the old main stand come down.

Re: Stadium
Any mention of capacity
Re: Stadium
Thought it was Wakefield at first with the lack of people around. Like all the other iterations it looks and sounds good but I will have to remain a reluctant sceptic until I walk through the gate.
Re: Stadium
I think the railway end is covered if you zoom in no sign of the floodlights hope there moving them.
Re: Stadium
Good news about the stadium. Shame we couldn't get the move to a much better location, but it is what it is. Same parking issues, as well as the tedious pile up trying to get away from the ground.

Re: Stadium
Have Castleford tigers got the parking land over the road from the ground as well
Re: Stadium
Think they just collect the money it £2 more that it used to be.there’s loads of over grown land down Wheldon Road. close to the ground that could be put to better use
Re: Stadium
RE parking plenty of parking in town we always park on castle fields and walk down ,anyone who parks near our ground should sit it out for less than than half an hour after the match finishes no problems getting away then

Re: Stadium
From the pictures in the link the railway end is definitely getting covered. Pitchside view 1 and pitchside view 2 both show the intended new main stand and the railway end (the one with corporate boxes and a roof).
Re: Stadium
Will all stands have seating?
IMO seating will spoil the atmosphere that we now get from having standing terraces on 3 and a half sides.
