When he came into the team in 2018 he looked liKe a fantastic prospect.
Unfortunately, over the last three seasons he has had very few good games. He’s anonymous too often, especially in tight games against the better SL teams.
At the moment, he’s not the top SL half-back that he promised, and he’s no longer a young player.

He looked the real deal at the start of 2020 up until the first lockdown I wonder how many games after that he was affected by the injury and pain to his back

I think that’s my point. He has some good games, but if you’re having to think back to early 2020 to find them, it’s an issue.

He’s to inconsistent.
For a half back you need consistency as they are a major cog in the team.
No good having one good game to 5 bad games.
Not sure if maturity will make him a more consistent player further down the line.
Looks like in a cas shirt we may never know, if if the rumours are true.

Trueman has plenty of capability but fails to get involved and does go missing and he also needs to be more pro active to spot the opportunities in back up open play like, for example, Hardisty was a master of in coming off the shoulder of forwards making a half break ! The jury is out for me as to whether he will prove to be a class half back but as mentioned earlier, he has the potential to be just that if he applies himself !

Also infamously saying "I hope Adz will stay at Cas he loves it there but we've had offers from NRL clubs so we will have to wait and see " 😂

I agree. I can’t stand him.
Not just a slimeball but a compulsive liar.
Not sure why players want to be associated with him.

There 2 reasons.

1) you've not a lot of choice, bearing in mind what Phil Clarke and his brother did to us in the snake Saga.

2) he gets a good deal for you

He's got no loyalty to clubs only his players. Would we have got Mcshane, gale and hardaker without him. I don't think we would but for Macca and gale we took them to the next level, international level.

I guess it's better knowing him than not

I'm not sure who Radfords agent is if he's got one but I always felt it was somewhat of a conflict of interest Powell having Harrision as his agent

I think so aswell but like I said maybe that helped us get certain players in.

DP did him favours by bringing in foster and Clarkson who both did well for us. Foster was unlucky with injuries but his versatility was such a plus.

My view is that Agents are blood sucking leaches that serve only themselves, riding on the back of someone else's talent to ensure any deal gives them more money. They only enhance their clients wages in order to enhance their own.

They take money out of the game, money that could be used to further support the game and for that alone, should be banned.

I stoped listening to what someone calling himself showmethemoney had to say under Powell It used to get me angry hearing him talk about what the club needed or didn't need as tho he was the main man
Radford and the board shape the future ...of course he as influence cos most of the players have him as there agent he should concentrate on doing the best he can for them and keeping his mouth shut about anything else to do with Cas Tigers

without these agents alot of players would be earning much less tbf . It's in their interest to get the players the most money possible .

If Trueman leaves on a free then its very disappointing from Cas.

If he's not signing a new deal we need to let him go now while we can get money for him.

I reckon it's unlikely a club will come in for him now when they can sign him for nothing next season, especially given his recent injury.

Whether it would be disappointing to lose him would very much depend on who was signed to replace him. Maybe Radford thinks he can get someone better for the money that Trueman might demand. At the moment, he's not a top SL player and not a current international, so we shouldn't be paying above his value.

Personally, I'd be offer him a deal and give him until April to sign it. In that way, we can't be played off with the old "he's been offered more at Leeds/Wigan/Hull KR/Warrington/Melbourne Storm(!)" agent bluffing.

If he doesn't want to stay, he can test his value on the open market and we'll look elsewhere. The risk is his at that point, as he might well find he isn't offered as good a deal as the one that was on the table to stay.

My money is in Trueman going to Warrington next season. Powell gets him for free rather than paying a fee.
