It was Georgie Blewitt, not to be confused with that other cas legend Georgie Fireball, although both were a few spanners short.cogito ergo sum wrote: ↑06 Nov 2021, 10:29 [
My goodness, takes me back! I can see him now, blowing his cheeks out and waving his hanky. I always thought his name was Georgie Blewitt, but I might be getting confused by the nickname you refer to. He certainly blew.

Georgie Blewitt sold newspapers on the street. Who remembers waiting outside Stevoe’s for the Green Final (green ‘un) to find out the scores and reports? The van used to arrive about 6 pm, didn’t stop, just drove round the square and threw the papers out from the back.
If Cas were playing in Lancs, you sometimes only got the half time score.
