Was thrilled when McDermott didn't get anywhere near the Cas job but if the rumours are to be believed he could be a good appointment for Fev.

Wasn’t it McDermott who said small pit village teams shouldn’t be in SL ?

Strange how a man's stock can drop so low. He would have been my choice after who was initially in the running for the Cas job.
After seeing the work Radford has done, I'm over the moon with his appointment.

Mcdermott is a two faced hypocrite. He states that "small town teams should not be in SL", then joins Featherstone with the sole aim of getting them in to SL.

Re: Webster leaves featherstone.
Back to Webster and it seems he was unable to fulfil a full-time role after this season due to other commitments and the infamous Fev chairman decided to look elsewhere. Still wouldn't be my choice of replacement though.
Speaking of which, it turns out it was our fault we didn't fully understand his comments on 'small town' clubs. Priceless...

No doubt taken from "McDermotts big book of excuses" which he brought out after every defeat during his tenure at Leeds.FIat Capper wrote: ↑26 Oct 2021, 11:11 Back to Webster and it seems he was unable to fulfil a full-time role after this season due to other commitments and the infamous Fev chairman decided to look elsewhere. Re: Webster leaves featherstone.
He didn’t say that the content of what he said about small northern towns, was wrong, just the timing!
He was talking about SL needing to be city clubs and presumably didn’t know that Salford is actually a city. He really ought to try thinking before speaking
