Heard today at the Castleford players association meal that the club are agreeing to let him go after asking for a move? He not only player under contract going as Greg Eden has agreed elsewhere.

We’re short on halves and we’re letting one of our better ones leave?Meat and potato pie wrote: ↑10 Oct 2021, 17:41 Heard today at the Castleford players association meal that the club are agreeing to let him go after asking for a move? Is “Meat and Potato Pie” the new profile of the Infamous “Covid Tiger”. Seems to “hear” as much as CT and uses the word “apparently” just as much…
Re: Gareth OBrien
PS - Greg Eden isn’t under contract at Cas for 2022
Re: Gareth OBrien
Very overrated player wouldn’t be bothered if he was replaced.

Re: Gareth OBrien
Wouldn't surprise me if he's wanting a move elsewhere to play fullback as he's not really a half back and he has no chance of getting in over Evalds. Still tho despite not being a half back, he's still one of our better ones. Wouldn't mind him out for Sneyd tho if that rumour is trueMeat and potato pie wrote: ↑10 Oct 2021, 17:41 Heard today at the Castleford players association meal that the club are agreeing to let him go after asking for a move? Re: Gareth OBrien
But surely GOB knew when he signed the three year deal that we already had Evalds in position to play full back?

Ok if we are playing a game of Tommy Topper! I announced months before that Alex Sutcliffe had signed. Da da da da da.

Re: Gareth OBrien
I don't understand your point. Players can sign deals then change their minds about them or want to move on if there's a club interested. Also he signed with us after Toronto had failed to get resubmitted into super league and he would have otherwise been clubless, if his situations have now changed or he's presented with more options then he may want to explore those options
Re: Gareth OBrien
I meant why is he wanting to leave now to play full back when the landscape at Cas is at was 12 months ago when he signed. If he does want to leave, I hope we command a decent fee and reinvest in another half back.

Re: Gareth OBrien
Can't see this one at all. The only way we'd get rid is for a fee. No one is looking for a FB, nor would anyone pay a fee for a utility player. Not happeningMeat and potato pie wrote: ↑10 Oct 2021, 17:41 Heard today at the Castleford players association meal that the club are agreeing to let him go after asking for a move? Re: Gareth OBrien
The most recent article on Cas website re Mcllelland resigning suggests that Radford has commented that the signing adds more competition in the halves between O'brien, Richardson, Trueman and Mcllelland. Doesn't seem to suggest any of the halves are leaving anytime soon. Just picking up on the comment.

Re: Gareth OBrien
If their the half backs we are going with next season Obrien needs to be the organiser. None of the others have enough experience to take charge of a team. Fingers crossed we get Sneyd but dont think it will happen.Brummietiger wrote: ↑11 Oct 2021, 20:25 The most recent article on Cas website re Mcllelland resigning suggests that Radford has commented that the signing adds more competition in the halves between O'brien, Richardson, Trueman and Mcllelland. Re: Gareth OBrien
That’s fair enough, but if you end up with a track record of putting outrageous supposed rumours on here which end up looking as if they were just ideas made up to get a reaction don’t expect people not to comment on the possibility that you might be the same person who already has a history of doing that. I’ll look forward to seeing how your ‘rumours’ about O’Brien and Georgia Roche ( which comes across as a statement rather than a rumour) progressMeat and potato pie wrote: ↑10 Oct 2021, 20:30 No just posting Rumours in a rumour section......... #-o Some people on here must live very miserable life's .... Its a rumour mill to put rumours on. You dont have to be right everytime if you have heard a rumour about something. Too many people point scoring on this website.Tamworth Tiger wrote: ↑12 Oct 2021, 10:23That’s fair enough, but if you end up with a track record of putting outrageous supposed rumours on here which end up looking as if they were just ideas made up to get a reaction don’t expect people not to comment on the possibility that you might be the same person who already has a history of doing that.
