As far as I know, Sky don’t run the RFL Disciplinary Committee (nor do BLM, Comcast or democrats in America), so I’m not sure what the point is.Tigerwood posse wrote: ↑04 May 2021, 11:39 Unfortunately, even if clubb is innocent, in this current Uber “Woke” climate and sky now being completely “over the top” supportive of BLM and Anti Racism cause(I say this because it’s been blown out of all proportion by Sky and I think we are all sick of the kneeling now) and now being owned by Comcast, who are massive lefties and funded BLM and the Democrats in America, Clubb only as to appear to be guilty and he’s done for!!

Re: Savelio
Odd terminology for heat of the moment abuse.
There is little doubt that many people suffer discrimination because of who they are.
Although l see a need for punishment l see a greater need for education.
Punishment can lead to greater bigotry
Education will hopefully make people realise we don't chose our race, gender and many other attributes.
I think many people my self included have changed our perspective on other human beings and hopefully one day we will value the diversity.
Not that l find it in me to value bigots.

Re: Savelio
I literally cannot believe the RFL would actually put this into the public domain:
“We do not find that he is a racist, simply that on this occasion he used unacceptable language in the heat of the moment.”
So the RFL doesn’t find racist abuse to be the behaviour of a racist?
This brings the game into more disrepute than the incident itself.

Apparently racist abuse isn’t racism on an RL field.

They are satisfied he made a racist remark but don't believe he's a racist due to his previous recordnottinghamtiger wrote: ↑04 May 2021, 20:36Yep.tigerfeat wrote: ↑04 May 2021, 20:30What's all the campaign for by the RL if there going to come up with this conclusionnottinghamtiger wrote: ↑04 May 2021, 20:23 I literally cannot believe the RFL would actually put this into the public domain:

If someone makes a racist remark, they ARE a racist. Their actions and behaviour define who they are.
What next? Murderers who aren’t murderers because they haven’t killed anyone before?

Re: Savelio
John Wilkin explained it perfectly.
You cannot mix the objective and the subjective in today’s climate. Clubb did, so he’s not only racist, his grammar is questionable.
Everybody gets it.

Only the RFL could shoot themselves in the foot like this, when presented with an opportunity to paint the sport in a positive light.

Re: Savelio
I mean, they could have mitigated it. The punishment is in line with precedent.
But they needed to support that with a strong ‘no room for racism’ statement.
Instead, they made a statement that excuses racism and went as far as saying someone who racially abuses another player isn’t in fact racist.

Re: Savelio
This now sets a dangerous precedent further down the line, if anyone else 'accidentally' has a slip of the tongue whilst in the 'heat of the moment'. Just get your team mates to verify you're a good chap.nottinghamtiger wrote: ↑04 May 2021, 21:59I mean, they could have mitigated it. The punishment is in line with precedent.

Re: Savelio
I'm putting this down to ignorance on the part of Clubb and the RFL (clutching I know!) but either way, ignorance is no excuse.
The 'ignorance' aspect is what I see in many who do not regard themselves as racist but simply cannot help acting/speaking it. Again, this is no excuse.

Re: Savelio
Can the RFL refund our £20,000 for the abuse aimed at Gareth Thomas as, I’m sure, the person who shouted it only did so “I’m the heat of the moment” and they’d never previously done so. ?

There’s a point.
Though there were more like 10/12 15yr olds that were the culprits.
Not one.
