Sorry I can't put the link up but there's a great piece on him on the Total Rugby League site if anybody wants to look at it
Great player was Lee he picks the Regal Trophy win as one of his two favourite games mine as well I've lost count of the number of times I've watched it

Re: Lee Crooks
He was a fantastic player and he is a nice guy off the field as well. He was as good a prop as you would want in your side and was so very good at releasing a pass at the right time.
Regal Trophy was for me the best team performance by a Cas side as I ever saw. That day was awesome to be a Cas fan.

Great bloke is Lee. Played a few games with him at Lock Lane when he left the pro game, was then coached by him at Lock Lane. He took me to York when he was head coach there in 2001. Saw him out walking the other day and he’s looking in good shape.
Re: Lee Crooks
Yeah I saw him in Cas other week thought he was looking well I know he used to go watch Cas before the ban on spectators
Interesting point he makes about the Regal Trophy where every player played at the very top of there game very rare that happens in a final

Top player in his time, and top bloke always. Has the time to have a chat or just a hello. I bet he has some stories to tell.

That piece is also used in a series they’re doing in League Express on RL Heroes . They did Tawera Nikau a few weeks back and he said exactly the same thing about the Regal Final

Re: Lee Crooks
He came to Cas with a few skeleton's in his cupboard and the rugby culture at that time perhaps encouraged some of these but there was no doubting his talent.
He formed some great partnerships with the likes of Casper and Tony Kemp, using his deft off-loads to great effect. Never took a backward step and could kick a ball as well.
He was everything I should've been but I only managed the skeletons.
