Ian Fulton

A rare statement of positivity from Ian Fulton in today’s Yorkshire Post in which he confirms he’s proud to be Castleford’s chairman and committed to the future of the club.

I can already see them attempting to read between the lines and come up with conspiracy theories like he's biggin the club up so he can sell it or some other tosh.

Anyway, it seems we're well prepared for what may come our way but as with everything else during this pandemic, can't take the foot off the pedal.

Reading that brought a bit of sunshine into my afternoon....

It re-enforces how important the club is to the town & all of us supporters.

Fingers crossed that we eventually get some kind of credible season, we are somewhere in the mix at the business end and we can celebrate safely in the pub 🍻

I have no doubt someone will put me right.
But.
The statement seemed genuine and heartfelt.
Family loyalties don't pay the bills.
However he and his sister are the second generation custodians of our club.
When we look sometimes enviously at other clubs money men or women have they had such continuity.
I raise a glass to The Fultons.

The club has transformed into a genuine title challenger without the injuries. Made the playoffs regularly and finances in a good state.

Thanks Ian and family. If anyone thinks they can do better, I'll gladly be in the stands cheering with the rest of the supporters.

So paying cash for:
Joe Wardle
Liam Watts
Peter Mata’utia
Danny Richardson
(Any I’ve forgotten?)

Isn’t putting cash in? Also, when we’ve been making a profit, does he need to put cash in?

The club has made losses for the last 2 years according to the accounts.

If anyone made a profit last year is like to know how? People will moan if he's quite now they're moaning his said some thing... Never happy some people.

I don't know how much Richardson cost but the other three were over 200k if I was a owner that wasn't bothered I wouldnt be spending anything on transfer fees
I won't be around to see but if you look back in forty years time you will be able to judge how things went under his watch I'm not sure myself but like I say time will tell

But don’t the profits of the previous years outweighs the losses of the last two? If so, that means Ian wouldn’t of needed to put any money into the club...

Outside of online shopping forums and supermarkets, are any businesses reveling in the current economic climate?

We're still going and appear to have plans to deal with the worst case scenario, which may include taking a manageable hit, so thanks go to those still running the Club. Just don't sit back and think we're the finished article. Got to keep moving forward...
