I don’t think Niall Evalds is ‘average’.True-supporter wrote: ↑17 Oct 2020, 20:56 Every year we let are best players go.we than bring in a average player and expect DP to work a miracle. Not surprise that Danny wants to leave. We have become a feeder club we have no ambition. As long as we stay in super league that all the Castleford board wants.

True. I have been as critical of our retention and recruitment as anyone.
But I still think we have put together a very strong spine for 2021. Evalds, Richardson, Trueman and McShane should have us competing for finals, IF they can all find consistently good form.

The problem will be keeping them fit only after look at last couple seasons. Also talk that trueman could be moving on.

I just can’t see where Trueman might go.True-supporter wrote: ↑17 Oct 2020, 21:26 The problem will be keeping them fit only after look at last couple seasons. Also talk that trueman could be moving on.
He’s under contract, and nobody is going to be paying big transfer fees.
In SL, the clubs who can spend because they have rich owners have halves under contract.
Trueman is nowhere near the level of getting an NRL spot at the moment.
But yes, squad fitness is a massive worry.

Honestly can't see Trueman going anywhere and if we do have the intention of getting rid then I would imagine it'll depend on what happens with O'Brien. Either way, still a good spine for next year

Exactly. We have to remain optimistic.LeagueLeaders wrote: ↑17 Oct 2020, 21:45 Honestly can't see Trueman going anywhere and if we do have the intention of getting rid then I would imagine it'll depend on what happens with O'Brien. Either way, still a good spine for next year
Every successful team has a quality spine, and it has been the same for many years (and decades). Those with the best combinations at full back/half-backs/hooker are the ones challenging for finals.
You can have average, hard-working players around that and still stand a chance.

Salford have shown what Darryl showed when he came to Cas what can be done if you get players who buy into what your doing its just the constant injuries that have put a damper on things at Cas for me

This forum is really getting boring.
I can't believe that even half of the people who post are really Cas fans.
Trueman is going nowhere.
Look at Powell's posts.
The rumours by people ' in the know' are laughable.
I'll take a sabbatical.

By that, you mean on this forum. I don’t recall seeing it anywhere else that JT may be on his way out...

The rumour (on here) was Warrington with Widdop wanting a return down under. They would spend no problem.

Mad Monday needs to stop. We want to be a professional sport everyone needs to start acting professionally!

In-game, and as you say there isn’t much you can do about it.
However, even the immediate response was inadequate. It was obviously a serious injury and we left him hobbling around for twenty minutes, all the time worsening the damage. Even when he came off, they had him running up and down the touchline, again making the injury worse than it should have been.
Injuries like that need to be immobilised immediately and nothing should be done until the scans show exactly what the injury is, and the extent of it. The worst thing to do is ‘test out’ the injury to see how bad it is.
Our conditioning is inadequate, from the prevention of injuries to the immediate response to injuries. I think it was summed up after the last game in 2019, when we didn’t even do a post-match assessment of the players and let them jump straight on a plane for Mad Monday (or whatever day it was). No post-game recovery, no assessment of injuries and as a result, players who returned from the end-of-season knees-up with injuries that they didn’t recover from in time for pre-season.

Re: Squad for hull fc
Game day is here at last. Not sure if that’s a good thing or bad.
So what we thinking.
Looking at both squads, we look very weak in the outside backs.
I think that will/could be our down fall today.
Nice to see both our halfs back, but, how fit are they and will they last the full 80 mins.
I’m not over confident, hull seem to be our boggy team at their place.
I decided to get the code to watch the game, just hope it is worth it.
COYF.

Hull win something like 36-16 I'd say

As the games pass by and Hodgson continues to be ignored I’m finding myself hoping he does leave poor kid. If I were his parents I’d have him on that flight tomorrow.

Massey McShane & Hepi. Must by the lightest front 3 in our S.L history.
Hoping for the best but if Hull play at 60% or more they'll win
