Re: Saints up next not FC
We may not have won that game, but I can't help but think that performance will turn a corner for us. The discipline, fitness and determination displayed in that game will certainly raise the bar for future fixtures and that is with players coming back.
Re: Saints up next not FC
Can't fault the effort today, maybe if Trueman had of played we could of unlocked there defence. Much improved on last week, on to the next game.

And Shenny's push to blow a repeat set from a drop out....SuffolkTiger wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 17:36 Poor decisions under pressure giving Saints juice now.
Macca's poor pass out of the tackle, Millo's stupid challenge......
Not good.

When we got 6 restart always on first tackle and in our own 10 to 20
Re: Saints up next not FC
Can’t knock the effort, they just kept showing up for each other. Showed the benefit of having a proper fullback, not only was O’Brien in the right position every time but the communication from the back telling everybody else where to go is key. Trueman pulling out probably cost us the points, we were lacking something in attack without him.
As for Makinson yes he was guilty but if the referee doesn’t see it then he can’t give it. And once play has carried on it is too late even when seen on video. Offences like squirrel grips and biting never result in red cards because of this.

The difference then was we didn’t have the new rules. It has sped things up and he has looked a passenger since the restart. Everything is happening a bit too quick for him right now. Whether we stick with these rules or revert back will be vital for him.

That's ridiculous if it's trueCoachHusky wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 17:49 I doubt Eden going to be in anytime soon. Drinking in Knaresborough with his girlfriend yesterday social distancing not so much. Wednesday morning he was at Coffee Boy again not social distancing with people and then Wednesday afternoon trying to force his way into any restaurant that would take him at Xscape. Again no social distancing.

Couples with his embarrassing attempt to score regather Vs Catalans, it’s time for Feki to come in or Eden to. Olpherts definitely is the right winger we’ve been searching for.
Good half of rugby, but not too impressed with Danny Richardson either tbh

Here come the “blame the Ref” brigade. I didn’t see James Child:
Miss a tackle
Drop a ball
Shoulder charge a player off the ball
Push a player in the back for no apparent reason
I could go on. Blaming the ref is a cop out. We had no clue in attack. Like someone has already said, we could still be playing now and wouldn’t of scored.

This is starting to annoy me now. He hasn't played a single competitive game for us. What on earth is going on.

Re: Saints up next not FC
Even tho we were scoreless I thought that was a gutsy performance, considering Truman not playing at last minute. You could tell we had a proper fullback. Obviously now the main priority is to score points. I'm a little disappointed in richardson so far to be honest but maybe once we have a settled squad he should only get better. Need feki in next game now it's just riduculas having claire on field when there is a international sat around on £100,000 a year. Overall I'm happy with that performance I thought we would get wupped

Rested another week by Powell, as you see today Percival came back and got injured straight away, we don’t want that to happen to Feki.marty_tiger wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 19:02This is starting to annoy me now. He hasn't played a single competitive game for us. What on earth is going on.

Re: Saints up next not FC
First class effort in defence, Saints were starting to make uncharacteristic errors in attack off the back off the efforts the lads put in. Late withdrawal of Trueman didn't help our attack, which looked toothless today.
Still, some positives to build on.

Re: Saints up next not FC
Refs are now starting to influence games.
Makinson should have seen Red and Lee's should have been carded for taking Millo off the ball.
Hicks and his touch judge have just missed an absolute obvious foot in touch from Briscoe.
Powell and all other coaches have every right to call refs out after the game.

Re: Saints up next not FC
Not sure if anyone's posted it.... But we lacked good play.
Does Trueman win us that game? We're we that close to finally winning at Saints??
I'm very happy with the performance and not too down beat. Specially with how saints are playing lately. Tough ask to get in top 4 now though with how Saints, Catalan and Wigan are playing. 4th place up in the air.

Re: Saints up next not FC
Grit, determination and we kept going. I am very proud of the effort today from the boys, except Clare. He looked sh@t scared in first half and was very poor.
O’Brien looked good for me, Olpherts much better as well. Just lacking the half with the key to us scoring and we could have nicked that game. Considering all the disruption I thought we were pretty good. Remember this was Saints not Toronto and it was at Saints.
The less said about the officials the better because we got away with a few calls as well.
Top effort boys, big improvement from Catalans game.
