I don't think he'll get that anywhere, never mind Cas.

Depends, I may think of employing him as the water carrier.

Theres no chance he's a SL standard 6 - another Ryan Hampshire that rates himself higher than other people do in my opinion. He's a back up utility and thats about it.

Well, I might be in a minority here but I would like us to sign Liam sutcliife. Wanting a fresh chance and a change of scenery. Not getting a regular spot at Leeds. Sounds to me like an ideal opportunity for DP and the rest of our coaching staff to work wonders again.

Would he get a regular spot with us.
Imo no he wouldn’t, only injuries or bans would put him within a shout for a starting spot.

Looking a bit longer term - could he be the ideal replacement for Shenton ?

He's showed talent in games but as a lot to prove now DP is not afraid to sign these kind of players so I'm with you the only thing Leeds would want some money for him and we shouldn't be paying for him unless it's a token amount

He's a Leeds academy product isn't he, so I assume he'll also command a fee of sorts - a bit like that lad at Wakefield (Lee Kershaw) who's potentially having to leave to become a courier - as no one seems willing to pay the fee that he's going to cost as he came up through the Wakey academy.

He’s a upgrade on what we have (in centre definitely and he can kick goals). Of course we will want him. He’s still only 25!

Guessing he already knows our ex Leeds contingent too. I trust Daryls decisions I think he’s not got many signings wrong.

He will not command a fee if he is under contact. The paying of a fee to an academy graduate stops, I believe, when they reach 24

In his favour, he’s a consummate professional, a great goal kicker, good on defence, great rugby brain, nice kid apparently and probably more important than all of these a multiple trophy winner that isn’t fazed by the big occasion.
On the down side, he lacks pace, isn’t the biggest and hasn’t nailed a position down up to press but I’m sure Daryl could make a proper player out of him, but as others have alluded to I see him as a ball handling 13 more than a 6 personally. I’d be really surprised if we ended up with him, reckon he’s got Toronto badge on already.

If he plays at No 6, no place for Trueman.

Can't see him developing into a better player at No 7 than Richardson.

Let's face it he's just not good enough to have a permanent place in the current Cas team.

He’s the perfect bench player given he can cover everywhere except prop during a match if need be. If that was the plan then fair enough. But he isn’t good enough to improve one single area of the team as a starter. So unless he was cheap it would be a no from me.

Id like to sign him but only as cover which we desperately need in the halfs, he could also cover full back, centre n loose so id say he brings value its down to him if he is willing to be cover.

Theres a chance that Trueman or Richardson could get an long injury which would give him a good chance to play for the 6 or 7 shirt.

Maybe, as stated, he's Shenny's replacement, till then, he'd have to settle fo a utility/bench player role... Just over thinking things a bit.

I must admit whenever we played leeds and I saw Sutcliffe was playing, I was happy as he was no threat!

However, we know Daryl. And we know what he can do. And we know he thinks deeply about the game and our attacking shapes.

Maybe he’s going to adapt the new-old #13 ball playing lock forward. Other than that, he’s definitely great cover and puts pressure on truey and richo. Sutcliffe to 6 and either Truey or richo at 7 if there’s a drop in form.

I’d certainly prefer Liam Sutcliffe over a Jamie Ellis, and given he’s explained now he wants away and why, it seems to me he’s got the idea In his head that his career will be boosted with a little Powell magic.....

I can’t see him being fast enough as a Shenny replacement...can anyone else?

Just as another thought, I hope he’s not mike mcmeekens replacement? We need a bigger unit.

I'd say the new/old ball playing 13 and cover for other positions if we're bringing him to Cas
