Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Thing about Sutcliffe he could improve and become a decent player at Cas under Powell we need a back up to Truey and Richardson otherwise we will be pulling people out of position to cover if one of them gets injured so I'd be happy if this was true

Be a good signing
Think Blair will be mikes replacement at 2nd row so gives us cover at centre and in half’s.

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Can play multiple positions and with Daryl's track record with making players better I could see this as a very good signing. It also gives us backup in the halves which is what we need.
Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Good squad player at best
Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Decent goal kicker but really a ‘jack of all trades, master of none’. Utility at best.
He’s never impressed me and would have never been anywhere the England set up if he didn’t play for Rhinos.
Having said all that, who knows if DP can wave his magic wand once again and make a Sol purse from a sow’s ear?

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Is the reason cas are "linked" with him simply because his agent is touting him about for an improved Leeds contract?

Could have a point there FC.Flat Capper wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 13:02 Is the reason cas are "linked" with him simply because his agent is touting him about for an improved Leeds contract?
Is his agent Harrison by any chance.
Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Was the next up and coming star until a couple of seasons ago but seems to have stalled a little at Leeds, maybe a new start with Powell can get him back to his best and he can also cover a few positions.

Would be good cover but he needs to know he wont be walking into a starting spot if the rumour is true that is.

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
I happen to think he is good enough to start in most clubs, needs to be regularly one thing though.
He is super talented and was identified as such at an early age.

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Sounds like a poor rumour to me.
A has been, who never was.
No pace.
No position.
Can't honestly think of a single attribute he has, that would put him in a Cas 17.
Even the most biased Rhino fan, and I know a few, don't rate him.

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Daryl has a good record Of improving players beyond recognition, when signing ones who have come through Rhinos system, thinking Of such as Gale, Foster, McShane.

For 4-5 years I've being saying please no when a rumour comes up who we might be after I've decided to back Mr Powells judgement from now on

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Seem to remember Sutcliffe coming on the scene as Sinfields eventual replacement but never held a position down n was just used as a utility fill in, im still not sure which his best position is. I wouldn't go out of our way to sign him as im sure he'll be just after using us to improve his chances of a leeds extension but if he wasn't asking for a lot he could be a useful back up player.

I feel sorry for DP any player we get link with will become a super player at cas. With the players we are loosening we need some better than squad player?

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
the years that should have seen him progress were spent under mcdermott who didn't seem to know where to play him. same goes for agar.

Re: Liam sutcliffe.
Really decent player who's always been a 7/10 man, never let's anyone down but rarely does anything outstanding. I think if he was to be bought for a specific position and allowed to specialise he'd be much better. The curse of being a decent fill in for 4 or 5 positions means you never get the opportunity to settle in 1 and have a good run, especially in RL where there is always someone injured.
