Re: Best overseas player
Having watched all of them since 1960, you can make a case for many. Nikau one of the best, Milo and Vowles the most committed, but Rangi could do things nobody else could, he could win a game himself. One I would liked to have seen much more of was Richard Fa’aoso.
Re: Best overseas player
Wayne Bartrim was another player of absolute quality. And gutenbiel for still coming over after relegation showed real class
Re: Best overseas player
Disagree. Thought he was unfit and overweight and despite the obvious calibre he came to wind down his career on a top dollar import wedge

I wish we had had Dean Widders earlier in his career. Everything about the guy was a great fit for "Classy Cas", both on field and off.

Re: Best overseas player
Interesting how views differ, I think Bartrim was good for us and I remember the medical where the report on his was glowing, at the time I think the quote was one of the fittest specimins tested - but can't quote the source anymore was a long time ago. But never thought he was unfit, except when we patched him up a few times. He'd always play if he could drag himself out.
I thought he was great for us personally and had the pleasure of a few beers with him from time to time, and Gibbo, good company. Barts had the ridiculous massive BM I recall as well, that kept it low key!

Re: Best overseas player
Think he made a few mistakes with businesses and suffered for his being so trusting, got a lot of stick for it back home.
As you say, Electrical thingy now.
State of Origin player and lovely bloke, but I wouldn't have wanted to get caught checking his Mrs out!

100% Fritz
Re: Best overseas player
Richie Blackmore for me closely followed by nikau and the season nutley did for us he was head and shoulders above everyone (which wasn’t hard like)
Re: Best overseas player
Rangi Chase closely followed by Ryan McGoldrick
Re: Best overseas player

Surprised you are the first to mention webbo, thought he brought a huge amount to the club on and off the field.

Re: Best overseas player
Another lad that I would have loved to have seen more of in a cas shirt was Willie Manu. Real shame when he left.cogito ergo sum wrote: ↑31 May 2020, 19:36 Having watched all of them since 1960, you can make a case for many. So to tweak the question then:
What would your 17 be from overseas players you have seen?
I'd go:
Dorn
Carney
Blackmore
Webster
Solomona
Chase
Davis
Nutley
Bartrim
Millington
Fritz
Nikau
Vowles
Michael Smith
Gibbs
Moors
Eager
