I’m 82 years old with prostate cancer and other major health problems. I therefore regret that I can’t get involved with your friend in Croatia. I’m willing to answer specific questions on Castleford’s history although I haven’t actually got an eMail address anymore. Perhaps your friend might be better getting in touch with either Ian or Roy Garbett at Castleford or buy their book on their 90 years statistical record 1926-2016 available on Amazon.

Afraid not as I’ve lived all my life in Redcar. However I believe that Ian and Roy are the sons of the late Len Garbett who played for Cas during the Second World War years and was the coach during the 195657 season and may have been Secretary at the club in later years.
