Hi Sirocco, when you say you can assure me about Burys stands being of the older type I take it you havn't actually seen their ground in recent years. Just google Gigg Lane Bury and there are loads of photos of the ground. One full side and end looks newer than most super league grounds (exept Headingley).sirocco7 wrote: ↑14 Jan 2020, 22:40The stands that Fev took were relatively modern structures that were basically steal, concrete and cladding...... I can assure you that the stands at Bury aren’t modern and it’s not simply a case of making them an offer and taking them down. Basically it’s never going to happen if would probably be cheaper to design and build a new stand .gerin2em wrote: ↑31 Dec 2019, 11:56 We keep hearing about plan B, well hears thought, bearing in mind what Fev achieved with the old Scarborough stands, how about having a look at whats happening at Bury FC. As far as I am aware they are in the hands of the receiver and are millions in debt so would be open to sensible offers for any of there equipment....ie stands. Is it beyond this club to do what Fev did? Gigg lane is a 12000 all seater and looks as good as anything in the league. Just a thought. Oh and happy new year.

I never said it wasn’t happening.... the last communication I had with lateral was in July when they said Brexit was holding things up but the project would be delivered. Brexit hasn’t happened yet hence the delay.... if we are no further forward by the end of the year I may start to have doubts.on side wrote: ↑15 Jan 2020, 01:57Am really thinking it's not going to happen when one off biggest backers for saying its def going to happen sirocco7 is on about building new stand down lanesirocco7 wrote: ↑14 Jan 2020, 22:40The stands that Fev took were relatively modern structures that were basically steal, concrete and cladding...... Thank you for your feed back my view is hope it happens but getting less confident as the years role buy. What's stopping it I think it as to be finacial reasons when all planning is done and ready to go.Fumper27 wrote: ↑15 Jan 2020, 09:45As a fairly recent addition to this forum, welcome by the way, you certainly know a lot about sirocco7 and their thoughts on the proposed new stadium. Kudos to you for reading all 148 pages of this thread. Do you think the new ground will happen and, if not, what are the main blockers to this?on side wrote: ↑15 Jan 2020, 01:57Am really thinking it's not going to happen when one off biggest backers for saying its def going to happen sirocco7 is on about building new stand down lanesirocco7 wrote: ↑14 Jan 2020, 22:40The stands that Fev took were relatively modern structures that were basically steal, concrete and cladding...... Can any body tell me if this is true,
not being past the site for while but being told all the porta cabins have being moved off the site. If this is true about time somebody made a statement about it not happening what the new plan is.

Went passed yesterday and I saw no change at all.

Those flags up the poles on site look tattered. They look like something off a battle scene from the Napoleonic wars.
Get a plan B looked into Cas it isn't going to happen.

Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
Time for everyone to come clean and give us the true picture even if it means huge disappointment.
Burying our heads in the sand and hoping for the best as run it’s course. We need movement now wether it’s a new stadium or redevelopment of some kind down the lane.we cannot continue as we are.

Well said Brayton. But don't hold your breath.
Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
I wonder if one day we will merge with Wakefield have a ground built somewhere in the middle have a team that can bring in marquee players and mouth watering signings

Sharing a ground would be the best thing for me.
Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
As biased as I am regarding Trinity I've always thought a sensible option would have been a shared facility in Normy.
Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
There is a perfect plot of land ready to build on for a shared ground just over the road from junction 32 :-"

Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
Ground would have been built 5 years ago if Wakey didn't throw the teddies out of the cot when they asked for the council to do a feasibility study on both grounds for a ground share and the council said Glasshoughton.
Re: New Ground for Cas or NOT !
Went past the supposedly new ground today. Whilst parked up at the lights tried to have a nosey. Could see porta cabins to the left and to the right something caught my eye but still trying to fathom what it was I was looking at. Seemed to be some sort of a stand but to be honest I haven't got a scooby. Thank god the lights went to green my brain couldn't take any more.
