We need to throw the ball about more off load that's how you cause gaps and breaks were so easy to defend against it's untrue

If we can not beat Toronto at home, we are not going to win many games this season. We had a couple out injured but they were not at full strength either.

Very poor attendance (3346) considering it was a sunny day, the captains testimonial, a full strength team out (except those injured of course) against a superleague team.

Compared to the Bradford game (3306) on a miserable boxing day, meaningless friendly, very few first team players (and those that played, didn't play long) against a championship team.

Club needs to ask, "Why are supporters staying away?"
3000 at Wigan for Liam Farrell's testimonial vs Leeds. That is more worrying I'd say.

People dont always have cash after Christmas too, while people will always turn up for meaningful games.

Bash the club but it is a sport and fan issue than a club issue.
Friendly or not The sport as a whole is dying and becoming very dull and boring at the top level.

Our attack is a real concern. The one thing teams hate defending is pace and we don’t have any wether it be on the flanks in the halves or in the pack. We have become boring and predictable and it’s been getting progressively worse since 2017.

An injury of any length to either half back and we are in a dog fight make no bones about that

I thought Eden brought some pace to the game, needs to be in the 17 imo.

one thing i did not like was when one their players went down and stopped down only jumping after they had got the penalty and one of our players getting put on report, he looked like he had been coached by a soccer coach

It was a good workout. Despite the forwards missing, I thought we looked on the whole the much stronger team (though score does not show that). Big hits from both sides. Pluses for me
Half backs - showed some good glimpses of things to come. I think both showed some real good signs today, and with time could form a great partnership.
Feki - willingness to do the hard work, and scored a try
Team as a whole - Rusty, not the best performance, but most of the game they were well on top. Didn't see any set plays. Is this on purpose? Some huge hits in particular from Holmes and Trueman.
Eden - to me he is the x factor. After all the substitutions, any sparks of chances came from his plays. To me, he is the pace and flair player. He Must be in the first 13.

Well the 1st try we scored was a belter, just shows what we can do when we throw it about. However it seems we are more interested in running the ball in than passing it these days. Thought the 2 new wingers looked strong running the ball out and Griffin, Hepi and Richardson look good additions. Our forwards looked small compared to theres but we do have a few injuries. Put Watts, Moores and mcmeekan on and it's a different game. Dont think Griffin is a prop more of a 2nd rower. Think we need another big prop if one becomes available.

It's no surprise cup games and friendly games with shared gates have lower attendances announced ....😉

Shenton went off after 25 for a head check. Jesse hobbled off and we ended the game with Clare at centre., I think we will have a bit more punch that we need.
The trouble is that Moors and Foster are almost always injured.
It’s also not unusual to lose players during a game.
It’s blindingly obvious what is missing, and has been since the end of 2017. We’ve had two full seasons and we are still going into 2020 without a full-back who is good enough to be an attacking threat against a decent defensive set-up. Until we sort that, we won’t be winning anything.

It's not unusual to lose players but then you don't make subs all over the park too. You don't have wingers on the bench and replace them after 50 minutes.

And I don't think Rankin was the problem today. We are too flat and don't move the ball fast enough.

Thought rankin looked good. Got outside trueman and richardson to get the ball just had nobody running any kind of line when he go the ball. We looked slow in attack and a bit naive while defending our own line. Cant get too down hearted about the game with it being 1st time new halfback pairing played together but we really need to improve for season starting

Mcmeeken,cook,watts,moors,blair

Missed those 5

Losing shenny and jesse didnt help either

Olpherts and feki got stuck in

Richardson, rankin and truey all looked to run it in plenty, drier grounds will suit that better

Some big hits put in

Not sure peachey is near a crack at first team action yet

Was a dull match but i we probably shoukdnt have expected anything more in January lol

Apparently, Toronto have asked the RFL for salary-cap dispensation as SBW won’t play in the opening rounds. They only want to count his salary from the point he starts playing.
Already trying to bend the rules.....

No, they want it because they're interested in signing a trio of Saracens players since news of them being relegated came out. Believe they want Owen Farrell, Billy Vunipila & Maro Itoje.
