Post by gateman » 06 Jan 2020, 09:06

this coming Sunday Cas visit Widnes it seems to be a long trail for a friendly, the team will be a mixture of a few of the first team who did not play on boxing day the rest made up of our next years second team and young guns , i will be missing this one out as Normanton are at home V the Longhorns a Ireland based team in the challenge cup

Anybody have any ideas why we are at Widnes.?

Such matches are usually link about previous or possible future transfer deals.

Or of course it could just be a chance to get the feel of an artificial pitch.

Great idea, let's play a friendly miles away on an artificial pitch. It's like someone wants our players to get injured ](*,)

Unfortunately things haven’t been the same at the club since cooper left . We replaced him cheaply and unfortunately you get what you pay for .

Can you expand on this as Jamie seem very qualified for the role with both his academic achievements and work experience / roles at other clubs?

Friendlies are what friendlies do and you have to take what you can arrange. It matters not that it's Widnes or even if the fans can make it but more about preparing for the season ahead at all playing levels.

Should be a good work out, nothing more, nothing less.

If you are going, enjoy the trip and stay safe.

Listening to DP it sounds like a game for fringe players and youngsters. Whilst the main focus for the first team will be the Toronto game for shenny’s testimonial.

I think we need to be using this game time to be giving Truey and Richardson minutes together. They need to play and understand how each other works and communicates.

These were DPs words in a interview with James Deighton of radio Leeds. I presume recorded today at the clubs media launch.

Doesn't look like Edens going to be one of our first choice wingers.... Playing fullback again against Widnes with all the young lads.

Wonder if we're going with Sticks and Feki?

Eden is a victim of his own stupidity both on and off the field.its upto him now to get his spot back which he is capable of doing if he cuts out the brainfarts
