Re: Scandal
If true, the player has to go. Simple as that. Also if true it shouldn't have got that far, it should of been stamped out and dealt with.
COYF!
Re: Scandal
So correct me if am wrong
Greg Eden due in court in April? For doing something similar
And now Holmes is rumoured to be joining him?
If true what a reputation the clubs gonna get

Re: Scandal
Leadership starts at the top and if it keeps happening over and over again one way or the other then questions need to be asked to those that set the standards.
Re: Scandal
This doesn’t sound good at all. If true then Holmes should be sacked on the spot but the management of the club needs to take a good long look at itself. It isn’t coincidence that this keeps happening, discipline starts at the top.
Re: Scandal
most certainly not sacked.
discliplined heavily.
placed on the list. FGS!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree for it keep happening at regular intervals is weakness at the top but at the same time ever since Powell as been at the club players have let him down massively don't know if they are or not but they should be ashamed of themselvesbraytontiger wrote: ↑31 Dec 2019, 00:58 Leadership starts at the top and if it keeps happening over and over again one way or the other then questions need to be asked to those that set the standards.

Re: Scandal
Ironically, I had commented on player professionalism and conduct in a post yesterday, before news of this came out.
There’s a balance here, in that the club aren’t responsible for the behaviour of the players at all times. They are (mostly) all adults who make their own choices.
However, we are lagging behind in terms of a professional culture at the club amongst the playing group. Quite a bit of the content on their social media accounts reflects badly on the club. They might be personal accounts, but in this day and age they are employees of the club who need to realise that whatever they put out there is directly associated with the club. The number of them that share far-right stuff is worrying.
Then we’ve got players driving around pointing imitation firearms out of car windows, making fools of themselves dangling from lamp-posts on a night out, multiple instances of fighting amongst themselves, with the family members of other players, their own partners and with the general public.
There are, of course, players who are completely professional and have been involved in none of these kind of issues.
Time to take a hard stand in my opinion. IF the rumours are true, use the clubs disciplinary procedure (if we have one) and take the strongest possible action against those who bring the club into disrepute. Then lay the law down to the other players that anything they do that damages the reputation of the club is likely to lead to them searching for a new club.
Time to move out of the 1990s culture - times have changed and so have the expectations of professional athletes in terms of their behaviour.

Re: Scandal
It has often been asked why so few of our talented youngsters make the step up into the 1st team squad. If one of the alleged rumour's turns out to be true is there a deep rooted problem with it at our club?
Personally didn't think much of the said player after the radio remarks,a lot less if one or both rumour's has any truth in it and won't cheer any of his exploits on the field if he stays....he's dirt on the soles of my shoe in my book.

£100k on the list. Would take £80k or a swap for someone who adds more attacking value.
Sneaking feeling he’ll end up at Leeds,Wakefield or Salford.
Adequate replacement and we won’t lose Out
Use money to part pay off junior and look to down under, for a club happy to release someone from their cap a year early.
Fozzie spot if not? Or Cheyse Blair, and Bring in another centre who can cover the back 3

Nobody in SL would pay 100k for Holmes.. He would do well to find a club in SL even if he was released.

Re: Scandal
We’d be lucky to get £1.00 for him.
If what has been rumoured is true, the steps should be pretty straightforward.
1. Suspension from work whilst the allegation is investigated,
2. An investigation into the incident, including interviews or written statements from those involved, including the player.,
3. If the investigation finds that the allegation is true, he should be dismissed for gross misconduct.
Time to start treating the players like every other employee.
Then use his salary to try and get Matty English.
