Maybe it's time for the club to poll the fans and sponsors about the preferential day to play. Because Sunday is our traditional day we have to change this because DP wants a match every 7 days. Rather than 2 in 4 days then nothing for 10 days. You struggle to build continuity and the injury risk is higher

Agree with this: Friday nights would be the logical answer imo

The statistics say it all. Yes, it is my opinion (as is it is only your opinion and anecdotal to blame it all on Cas too, no doubt) but do you really believe that it is only our fans accounting for a drop?

TV Thurs night games are off putting for both sides. I bet there’s a downward trend by and large across a lot of SL clubs.
Show me the figures and I might take your claim seriously
Away fans are probably staying away cos our ground is a shed. Poor beer, massive queues, Food ... toilets ...... main stand looks like it could collapse at any point, no cover on away end ... shall we go on

The years quoted give an unfair view of matters, 2017 was exeptional both on and off the field and this attracted more casual fans, the expectation of 2018 dwindled as the season progressed. why not look at 2016 compared to 2019, i feel that will give a fairer picture

I think it’s pretty conclusive that those trends follow the performance of the team. We built up to 2017 and have declined since.

This

If we say all of our home games are on Friday nights, they can then only get moved to Thursday nights at Sky’s request. A one day, rather than three day, change, that often also affects the week before and / or after surely has to be the better option?

We still finished further up the table than most. The decline in our season in 2018, was the fact that we lost our fullback, to drugs, we lost Gale, for the season what was a massive lose , then we went on to miss half the first team squad due to injury.

Then 2019, we loose Gale again before a ball had been kicked, then we loose Roberts, due to an off field incident with his own team mates, so both first string halves gone for the season. At times this year we have been playing with up to 15 player missing, and relying on a youngster to lead the team.

It looks like some of our fans are still living in 2017, when we played some fantastic RL,, the difference being we went through the season, relatively at full strength for most of the season.

After the play offs we finished 4th and with the amount of injury's we have had this season, we haven't done bad, with a patched up team.

personally I think Sundays are the best option to maximise away support, most prefer a sunday out rather than dashing over the pennines after tea on a friday, but whichever it is we need to stick to it as rigidly as we possibly can

In an ideal world I 100% agree but the truth is Sunday’s are not working due to the sky TV games. I dread to think how many season ticket holders we have lost due to the constant chopping and changing. People don’t know wether they are coming or going with the fixture changes particular the end of season games

Before the advent of Super League most home matches for Cas were played on a Friday as I used to drive straight from work in Middlesbrough, park my car at my wife’s Auntie in her ginnel in Queen Street just off Wheldon Road, walk to the match and afterwards have some supper there before driving back to Redcar after all the traffic had dispersed. Happy days.

By the way, does anyone know when next years’ fixtures are announced?

As much as that isn't palatable to read fords, you are spot on.

We are used to it and put up with it. Visiting fans (especially families), however, must recoil at the state of our toilets.

When it comes to the queues for food and drinks - we are light years away from basic service. It's really simple. There are only 2 busy periods - before the game and half time. Hardly the most challenging of scheduling tasks. It's an attitudinal issue and needs sorting sharpish.

It’s not just visiting fans who are disgusted with the “facilities”.
My daughter won’t come to the matches because she can’t use the toilets without feeling uncomfortable and unsafe. We attended a game late in 2018 and there were no locks on the doors in the female toilets, which led to someone walking in and her feeling embarrassed. I emailed the club (not that I should need to, and I got no reply)but when we came to the first game in 2019 there were still no locks on any of the toilet cubicles. She’s refused to attend again since then, and I can’t say I blame her.
This isn’t someone who has evaluated the facilities in detail or who cares about the fact we aren’t spending money because we are moving to a new ground. It’s an 8 year old kid who is lost to the club because they don’t provide adequate facilities so she feels comfortable and safe.
And don’t even get me started on the gents’ toilets behind the main stand.

The toilets thing comes up end of every season rightly too
Fingers crossed when we go back next season some improvements will have been made ...

Your right us fans or some put up with it, we shouldn't have to its 2020, the stadium and facilities is a joke.

We can only hope the new one does get built and that we will see an up turn in numbers again.
