Koukash would have been Bradfords best choice imo he would have thrown money at them and there fan base would have returned.

CHRIS Brereton is OUT of the running to buy the Bradford Bulls.

The former Wakefield director has been heading the consortium negotiating with chairman Andrew Chalmers to take over the cash-stricken club.

But Brereton spoke to staff this morning to confirm that he would be withdrawing from talks.

In a statement issued to the Telegraph & Argus, he apologised to Bulls fans for pulling out.

FORMER Rugby Football League chief executive Nigel Wood and his family have become the major shareholder in the new consortium that has taken over crisis-torn Bradford Bulls!!!

No wonder Bretherton pulled out

I smell a rat in this.

Perez, who is trying to get Ottawa into rugby league for 2021 now owns another club so can't move on with Ottawa. He also owns the rugby league acceptance ticket which he bought from Hemel Stags. So effectively owns parts of 3 clubs.

That doesn't sound above board.

He says he's only interim owner. So who is the owner he's selling to?

Nigel Wood and his family are involved, funny that he left RL when we were losing money but took a big payout to leave.

All very fishy and I guess RL will be the loser in all this.

He's spent some of his pay off from Rfl getting 75 per cent of Bradford
There playing squad from last year will be decimated now I would imagine

The other point is with his Rfl hat on Woods picked and choose owners he thought were the right people to save the club he could not have got that more wrong ...then hay presto he suddenly owns over three parts of the shares.
If it wasnt the Rfl involved you could not make it up if you tried

Some corrections on this - apologies!

Perez bought the Hemel Stags licence, which is being used for Ottawa. He's nothing to do with the club itself. Ottawa is the only club he's an investor/owner of.

He's also only the interim Chairman so will only be temporary until they find someone/someone else comes in and takes over. The owners who have bought the shares are NIgel Wood's family and Mark Sawyer - within the stake being that of the minority allowed by the RFL rules to prevent a conflict of interest. These are the only people mentioned so far in the "consortium".

Perez's role sounds like the intention is to help get things moving over the next few months with someone else taking over from the beginning of the new season.

He is still very much involved in Ottawa and I would imagine will start picking this up early next year then since they'll be prepping for entry in 2021 to League 1.

Good to see journalists calling for a thorough investigation into this debacle, and I hope serious questions are asked over the purchase of the lease of Odsal by The RFL.
