What an absolutely pathetic and pointless attempt at a post!!! Millo has been, for me anyway, the best import we have ever had.Mucky1978 wrote:Probably will milk us for another year rather then doing the right thing.

Re: Millo to retire?
I think that’s over-stretching it a little, considering the likes of Nikau, Blackmore, Vowles and Chase. But he’s definitely up there.

Re: Millo to retire?
I don’t think it’s over-stretching it at all to be honest. Nikau, Blackmore, Vowles and Chase were all fantastic players, but the only one that has stayed faithful to Cas is Millo. He’s done 8 years now with us, and I would have thought he’d had other offers at some point within that time. Plus, the work he’s done in the community. If you take everything into consideration, in my opinion, Millo has been our best import.nottinghamtiger wrote: ↑15 Sep 2019, 00:30I think that’s over-stretching it a little, considering the likes of Nikau, Blackmore, Vowles and Chase. Re: Millo to retire?
I would have to add McGoldrick into that mix in terms of loyalty and commitment to the club
Re: Millo to retire?
Typical post from you Mucky. After giving his all and more for 8 years, you’d think he was “milking” us for another year that THE CLUB offered to him? My opinion is that Millo at 80% is still one of the best prop forwards in the English game. I hope he stays, Griffin and Smith both learn as much as they can from Grant, who then retires at the end of 2020 in the knowledge that he’s up there in most people’s top 3 all time greatest imports for our club

Re: Millo to retire?
I think the Wigan game highlighted that Millo isn’t the right type of forward to take the game to them. He is a ball handling prop and plays as such, and would be better when the game is more open and players are tired.
I don’t see an issue with Millo, I just think as I have all season - we badly lack another go forward prop like Watts, that is a bit of an enforcer, offers grunt and doesn’t take a backwards step.
When we beat Wigan at home we destroyed them up the middle because Watts, Cook and Clark were direct. We badly lack that at times.

In the spirit of the final Blackadder episode - Goooodbyeee!
Re: Millo to retire?
Your right which was why I was keen we held on to Clark
The sight of are forwards getting run over in big games is depressing we will have to see how we go about fixing that next season
Or perhaps starting at Wire this week

Re: Millo to retire?
Watt's, Cooky and Smith all offer direct running as well as grunt.
Millom adds another dimension.
Smart ball handling almost half type
Unfortunately it's that flair we lack especially when we retreat into our shell.
Really seems a confidence issue.
I assume the lack of strapping suggests the bulk of his injuries are behind him.

But nowhere near the same level of playing ability.

Re: Millo to retire?
It’s interesting that he was a serial winner of fans player of the year. He suffered from putting his hand up for anything and playing injured a lot of the time due to poor management
Re: Millo to retire?
I've had the privilege of being in Millo's company at some social functions, and can say you will not meet a nicer guy, who loves the club n community, more than him. He has often played patched up this yr, and the reason for the heavy strapping on his arm is because a couple of seasons ago he snapped his elbow ligament, which is still unrepaired, which he plans to repair , once hes stopped playing.
I maybe biased, but I genuinely feel he is our greatest ever import in terms of value for money for the club, both on and off the pitch. People talk about Vowles & Davis, but one thing I can be sure of, which for me, puts Millo above those two, is he would never have signed for Wakefield or Leeds. We've had Millo throughout his best yrs, he is contracted for another season, and if managed correctly could even be here beyond that. No players are bigger than the club, but when players like him leave, it leaves a massive hole to fill.

Re: Millo to retire?
Millo was pretty loose and if he is thinking about retirement then watching his performance back last night should sadly convince himwesterbeast wrote: ↑20 Sep 2019, 20:44 Grant took it too Warrington last night. But his play the ball needs some working on [-(
Re: Millo to retire?
Millo made a few mistakes last night, but he did long minutes, defensively brilliant and we look so much better in attack when he is on the field in my opinion. Grant still has another year in him at least for mine.

Re: Millo to retire?
I agree
Re: Millo to retire?
It's hard to face reality really but I think Milo has had his day now. Don't get me wrong been a great player for our club but common sense should prevail before he does have a serious injury and I for one don't want his fantastic career to go out on a whimper with a serious injury. Love the guy a legend in black and amber. Coyf
