Average attendances

Post by flow » 09 Jan 2019, 00:39

2017 was 9525 / 2018. Was 7898 . Thats a massive loss off revenue's. Probably a decent player lost .Thinck Can blame it on not alot off sunday games against teams who bring could following , and not as entertaining as 2017. Lets all get down for first game see if we can get 8000 against catalan big ask but its not on sky. But still two thousand better then are city rivals from wakey lol 5244. Jin jer lol

It's not having the Sunday games that's cost us. Not exactly sure what the sky money works out per game but it hope it's worth it.

Not sure it gets any better this year either with us currently having most sky games announced and no signings. Stops the pay at the gate fans turning up.

We are spending up to the cap so how can we have lost a decent player?

We can be spending up to the cap and still not be spending as much as Saints and Warrington as they both have marquee players.

I'm not saying we are spending up to the cap I'm just clearing that up.

Those clubs will be using every dispensation available along with the marquee players to enable them to spend more than us. We also had a number of massive games at home in 2017, which we didn’t have in 2018. Wakey when we won the shield and Saints in the semis. If you’re going to post such as this, at least compare “apples with apples”.

Just saying that you've got to take into account all of the variables when comparing things like attendances. Things like day of game, how the opposing team are playing, is the game on sky, weather, other events on at the same time. That last one is particularly pertinent to last season given England’s run to the semi finals of the World Cup, did those games clash with any of ours? Also, just to end on, I find it a real coincidence that you’ve chosen to use the phrase “happy clapper”, given how I’ve only seen that used by one other on this forum, oldplayer 1. Why not drop the charade and just use the one account to post?

He is right but the fact remains the club lost a substantial amount of revenue last year in comparison and I would imagine they would like the gates to be on the up in 19 and not showing another year of declining crowds.

Not quite. All clubs put an even share of there annual distribution into a ‘pot’. After the first home televised game the home club each get 15K for each subsequent home game Sky show. This was done to mitigate the ruduction in attendance. So if a club is on sky at home more than ‘average’ then it can end up with extra tv money than it would have. Alternatively the opposite is true and it could end up worse off. Another reason why having a syccessful season pays dividends, Sky want to show you more and you get more payouts.

£15k equates to 600 tickets/pay-on-the-gate fans (@£25 each)
