Shame I like it as we seem good at it.
Re: Ball steal rule….gone?
Good. Stupid rule.
Re: Ball steal rule….gone?
we used to be able to steel the ball anyway on a one to one, why did the rl have to make it complicated?

Great news. A dreadful rule change when introduced. Made an already difficult role even harder for refs.
Re: Ball steal rule….gone?
Awful rule this one. One on one ball steals are great but I hate it now they can have 2 or 3 men in a tackle and as long as 1 or 2 come off then the other can steal the ball.

Re: Ball steal rule….gone?
Agree.
What the people failed to see when making the decision to introduce the current law is that the "steal" often starts while there are 2 or 3 in the tackle. When the "stealer" has managed to get the ball (with the help of the others) he tells his mates to step back while he completes the final stage on his own. Shows a real ineptitude to be able to think the process through & consider the impact.
I don't agree with much that Phil Clarke says but he was bang on last night when describing the area of the RFL responsible for the laws of the game in this country have failed with this one. They've had 3 years to look at this and make a decision. Then had to reverse it after 8 games. Embarrassing & inept.

Re: Ball steal rule….gone?
Stop messing is my request.
I've lost track of the number of incidents where the attacker losses control of the ball, or even gives it away, and is awarded a penalty for ball stealing. Allowing a ball steal in some capacity reduces this 'gamesmanship'.
I've said for years the RU could be improved dramatically in the long term if the attackers has to get rid of the ball ASAP and if they don't, the defenders can hold it in and claim it. It should be the same with ball steals, if the attacker loses the ball, it's their fault.
