Tompkins performance yesterday surely answered whose going to start at full back in the world Cup,he was a class apart,and Zaks petulance didn't do him any favours,nor did Arthur Mourgue who turned him inside out twice. I really shouldn’t say this, but I enjoyed the biff. Having watched the game since the late 50s, the punch up was a feature of every game. Nowadays it’s difficult to separate the hard men from the REALLY hard men because the enforcers have had their wings clipped.
