Synchronised Ball Stealing

Post by tykeneil » 03 Apr 2021, 11:51

We seem to be getting good at the new tactic of SBS.

It seems to be a difficult concept to practice, execute and wonder what the on field signals are.
A nightmare to referee

They were lapping it up last week when Whinos were doing it to Wakey.

Although it did benefit us a little yesterday I must admit I don’t like this new rule.

It's a shocker. Our refs were up against it any way with calling out ball stripping and this makes their job even tougher.

The clowns that sat round a virtual table & signed the rule change off should be embarrassed.

Need changing asap:

- a genuine one on one steal is legitimate
- once a second defender joins the tackle then it's no longer one on one - even if the second defender then drops off

The root of the problem is that the steal is being started with more than one defender are involved & then the finishing touches made once the shout is given to drop off.

Terrible rule change but, as with VAR in the premier League, it's the below par human input into the rule making that causes the issue.

Correct how can you sit around a table and come up with this as a idea it was obvious what was going to happen
