Pretty astute signing, as he won't count on the salary cap at all this season and only 50% of his wages will count in 2022.
Nothing to lose if they can afford his wages.

30 games in 3 years would fit in here.

32 year old in July, with just over 10 games a season in the last few year after some bad injuries. I'm just not sure. Suppose cap wise it's a risk Leeds can take due to not counting.

Having seen the pic of him in his Leeds gear he seems to look younger

I would imagine this means the end of mcllelland at Leeds. Thought he'd get a run but very little since he signed. I can see him moving to the championship.

It’s like I think I put in the thread on Richardson/Trueman - young halves don’t get better unless they get plenty of games. With no reserve competition, players like McLelland need to be going somewhere where they can get the regular game-time they need to improve.
When he left Cas, he was probably more highly rated than Trueman, but he’s made nowhere near the same level of improvement as he just hasn’t played.

50% counts this season 75% counts next season because hes played rugby league before.

I stand corrected. Maybe not quite as astute as I thought!

He came through with lomax at saints and looked the better of them. Lomax was constantly injured.

Lomax seems to be getting the better of the injuries now and looks very good in a team on the front foot most matches.

It would be interesting to know which one earned the most over their careers so far and if it was worth staying or going, in both finance and enjoyment terms.

Eastmond had a turn of speed over 30 years and the ability to step off both feet. I'll look forward to seeing him play.
