One of the coaches had a retired ref sat next to him to give advice on all the rule changes !

Interestingly one of the commentators yesterday compared it to when they previously played the game in quarters
Was it something they tried when the original SuperLeague first broke away in Aus?

Are they going to have four quarters in the NRL games ?
I was in Townsville about 20 years ago I was glad to leave it's so hot and sticky I thought maybe that's why they had quarters yesterday

There have been times during the British SL season when 'drinks breaks' have been taken after 20mins of each half. I guess this is introducing quarters but thankfully it was only during the hottest spells of weather so not that long or often.
