Stevie Ward: Leeds Rhinos captain retires from rugby league due to concussions

Post by mdean » 05 Jan 2021, 14:36

I know we have had other threads on this and the RU test case.

But I think this is a pre-cursor to the direct same thing in RL.

I wish him personally all the best, but the future is a difficult one for the individuals and the sports in general.

I appreciate that wishing him well and stroking my beard in thought about the game selfishly may seem duplicitous, this is a RL discussion, not a Stevie Ward message board, it is sincere, as a human and a retiree at his age, I wish him nothing but the best.

It was scary listening to the things he suffers daily with double vision not been able to see clearly to text on his mobile and so on
All the best to him i always thought he was a good player

I agree fully and wish Stevie all the best in retirement. It must have been a difficult decision to make at such a age. I wonder if he would have still played the game knowing what was to happen to him later in life.
