I agree with a post I've seen on Facey saying Andy Last turned them around, got them into the play-off semis and is rewarded with the sack (in effect). Too many British clubs just plumb for an Aussie coach, even if they have no track record, let alone a proven one.

Feel a bit for Andy Last. Dropped into the hot seat just before lockdown, came through an internal mini Covid outbreak and managed to get Hull one game from the Grand Final.

I am not rushing to "feel for him" I guess it depends if he wanted the job or, if he combines a full time job with a life away from the game which would have meant that an all consuming, high pressure job with a maximum life-span in Hull in the region of 2 years was not necessary for him? I am not sure.

Hodgson the deal is perfect, if he wins everything, doesn't get the sack but goes home in a couple of years much higher up the pecking order. If he doesn't win things, he gets sacked in a couple of years and goes home with more experience and would be where he is now with a few quid! Win Win.

I wish him well with their expectations but hope that Gorden Tallis doesn't get hold of him!!

A shame that Andy Last has been found "another job"
