According to Sky Sports, they have the financial baking in place and will be back in SL next season.
What af farce, anyone else would have been banished to League 1 with a points deduction as well. A team 4000 miles away, who bring nothing into the game, break the rules and are allowedstraight back in.

I've stated how I feel about the Canadian dream a few times. This just adds to it.
I work with lots of union fans. They love their rugby and take an interest in our code but they are genuinely confused about why our governing body have failed to make a long term success of establishing the game in any area in the UK outside the M62 corridor but seem hell bent on doing anything to pursue this crazy idea. Embarrassing.
Re: Toronto
It's more bad publicity a club who's got a billionaire owner but not paid the players for months even if they get a new owner there's every chance them pulling out next season it's just crazy stuff but that seems the way of the world now

Beat me to it.
Red Hall have made a right hash of it though. A blow to the expansion plans.

Re: Toronto
The Toronto saga from the off has been a bit of a farce.
Yes the won promotion to reach Super League but realistically it was never a sustainable venture with Transatlantic travel and accommodation cost, either for Toronto or their European based opposition.
The debacle with which ensued with Covid was obviously unforeseeable but probably just provided a vehicle to cut their losses.
They in fairness should not be to walk back into Super League.
What reassurances can they give or more importantly the administrators in charge of our sport hardly have a good reputation on financial supervision.
Look at the PaPa Joe fiasco as the latest example.
Grow the Sport in North America so international options are increased.
Let's stabilise the game in this country before anything else.

Re: Toronto
Spot on, what I have said from the start.
Same applies to Ottawa. Them Toronto, the proposed New York team and I think Boston have been mentioned. Add a couple of the current amateur teams over there and you’ve got the basis of an American League.
That is proper expansion of the game with no detrimental effect on teams in this country.

Re: Toronto
Carvill asking for the rugby league to save them giving them funding
The whole question is ridiculous even if you believe they have a right to part of the sky money
The pandemic is not going away next year to try and have a team in a English competion from Canada at this time is just crazy
