Giants v Rhinos

Post by Ken Smith » 03 Aug 2020, 10:19

What a cracking match that was yesterday. I thought that Huddersfield were terrific and didn’t deserve to lose as they were by far the better side, but the new rules have really quickened up the game meaning that some players especially forwards need to conserve their energy more. But those last 12 minutes Leeds were fitter and although I didn’t want them to win, it seemed inevitable that once the scores were level that Luke Gale would win the match for them in extra time with a drop goal.
In the previous match Saints showed how to beat Les Cats, keep their forwards at bay for the first 15 minutes and they’re there for the taking. I’m expecting Cas to adopt those tactics and then win fairly comfortably although I’m concerned that injuries will be a big factor this season and hoping that Cas have the strength in depth to cope with that situation.
