Coincidentally, my cousin lives there and had a band which played in the local pubs called the ‘Sultans of Thwing’

no tams mate they actually call themselves the thultans of thwing, or they did on the poster i saw. the local pub (the falling stone) had been closed for some time and the village were trying to raise money to buy it and run it as a community pub. i spoke to one of the locals and he said they had reformed to play the gig at nearby wold newton. maybe it was just a one off but a very clever play on words. sadly they failed to buy the pub which is awaiting planning permission to be converted to flats. a sad ending.

Cheers mate. I’ll email my cousin and see if it’s the same band. I know he’s not well but he still plays a bit. Lovely village.

I'm a regular visitor to Brid and Flamborough and often use the more scenic routes to get there. I've seen many a village name (including those two) and often thought of driving by to check them out. The wife's not so keen though.

Love the play on words though.

I knew Hudson was or has been the Mayor of Wetwang but didn't realise he also lived there. I believe he took over the role from the late Richard Whitely.

looks like lenagan has failed in his bid to buy the ground. the administrator refused to sell it separately from the club. lenagan wanted to buy the ground and other associated propertys for the bargain price of £3 million.

Proposed takeover of Wigan Athletic has collapsed confirmed by the administrators.
Will this pose a financial burden for the pies as the sole tenant.
However the whole financial landscape will be impacted by the ongoing measures to try combat covid.
Better to have some cash rather than none.

Not sure where he gets his £10m valuation from, from a purely business point of view.
They are a company with few assets who, despite on-field success, lose money hand-over-fist.

Drop in a very big ocean to the potential new owner.

He's a very smart guy and worth 1.1bn....

Ian Lenegan has confirmed in ‘Wigan Today’ that it’s a false report and he has no plans to sell.
