Re: Ben Thaler
No idea, but I do think he’s one of the better referees.
Not when he’s reffing us, of course, but when I watch games as a neutral.
Our pool of officials is shallow and lacking in quality. We can’t afford to lose the likes of Thaler.

Although I have no idea if Ray Tennant is still involved behind the scenes with reffing issues, I was aware he took BT under his wing and 'looked' after him with regards to the RFL. If e's lost his mentor, any slight misdemeanour will no doubt draw attention.

Re: Ben Thaler
Apparently the suspension relates to something that happened before the season began, but has only just surfaced.
Unless it’s something to do with his integrity (ie betting in games or bribery) then I hope he can stay in the game.

Re: Ben Thaler
It's unlikely to be quickly or cleanly sorted out now - Richard Cramer speaking on his behalf. I think RC took care of Keith Mason, Razza and a few others, it's not going to be a shake hands and get on with it.

What's he supposed to have done wrong?

Re: Ben Thaler
No way I can confirm any of this but all I am hearing is that it involves betting . Which if true that hes bet on a game where he was the ref he should be gone for good !

Re: Ben Thaler
Pretty sure he's been reported for that in the past by a touch judge.
Can't find the article at the minute but it was a Hull KR game at Craven Park and he said something about the game at HT a fellow official deemed "inappropriate".
Re: Ben Thaler
Pretty sure you’re wrong. It’s nothing to do with betting from what I have heard.
I would bet what I have heard is correct.

The above said, I’m not going to post what I have heard, so please don’t ask.
I am not particularly a Ben Thaler fan but it is his livelihood and I believe in innocence until proved guilty, therefore it is unfair to speculate further. Let matters take there course.
