I don't think they've got a problem with available cash, it's just being able to spend the cash whilst staying under the cap.

Owners a billionaire, they've just mismanaged how they've spent the salary cap. Probably part of the reason why noble has gone.

I genuinely think the Toronto owner thought paying all that money for SBW hed have a top player who would keep the club in super league
Last night was a shocking advert for super league to have a new club in who can't play home matches on there own ground for a third of the year is just looking plain daft

The Sky team were really struggling to make it sound as though there were two teams out there.
Saints were very poor.
Terrible advert for the sport not one to get the ratings up.
Then they are on again next week.
No doubt looking at extending their poor start.
Probably down on troops even more.
Also possibukity of their biggest defeat.
Toronto were dire SBW apparently highest error count in the league.
Records tumbling in their short history.
Longest loosing streak.
First time they have been nilled.
When tge finally get to play at Lamport no doubt their attendances will drop.
An ill conceived plan.
Terrible recruitment.
This will not help those with expansionist aspirations
The sport is getting headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Have to wonder how long their backer will continue pumping money in to this debacle.
Having to base the team over here for months won't come cheap.
Billionaires will not want to identify with a loosing brand for ever.

Laughing my socks off to be honest, hope they go back down winless. Throughout my lifetime the RFL have had a missionary like zeal in spreading the game. Maybe the only ‘success’ they’ve had is London who have about 1,000 die hards after 40 years in existence. Drive 30 miles north up the A1 or the same distance south and you will be hard pushed to find anyone with a passing interest in ‘The Greatest Game’

In all honesty if I’d not been weened on Cas games I probably would find the game that enticing myself.

If you want to see something completely ridiculous wait for next years ‘World’ Cup

That was the worst game I have seen ever !

Toronto were no better than a Sunday amateur rl side and St. Helens were woeful also - the good thing about it all was that St.Helens look like they are totally vulnerable to a number of beatings this year based on that performance.

Toronto have been moaning that Chase Stanley has been unavailable so far due to visa issues.
Now he’s arrived, we find out that they can’t play him as it would take them over the salary cap.
You just couldn’t make it up......

For years us and a few other clubs spent less than the salary cap and managed to maintain a squad fairly capable of competing. Just don't understand how the owners / Noble / McDermott managed to assemble such a poor squad other than their star signing and struggle to stay under the cap with so little players.

More disappointing that they replaced London who had a good run at it last year. Would have liked to see them build on another season in SL under Danny Ward. I'm sure they'd have been more entertaining and got stuck in.

Just over twelve thousand for tonights game.
The novelty of SBW has passed.
It's great to watch your team get a resounding victory but pay on the day spectators are less likely to part with their brass to whst looks like a a training exercise.
It could mean not only next to no away support, bjt also he fans staying at home especially if it's on TV.
They also bring out the worst from the microphone muppets.
Could we try any harder to make our fine sport to alienate potential speccies

i know this is a toronto thread and boy were they garbage in defence. but does ant one else think the leeds celebrations are a bit stage managed? they celebrate every score as if they have won the league almost as if they have been instructed to do it to try and bring a feelgood factor.

At the moment this is the best they have been for several seasons. When not only have. they lost the have played badly.
For quite a while it apprested as things were not quite right so perhaps this is a nod to the fans that they are bringing back the good times.
The problem last night they had a lot of opportunity to practice said celebrations.
