Terrible news. Knowing Rob as I have since childhood, he’ll do as he always does, fight like hell. Good luck Rob.

Genuinely shocking, 37 doesn't feel right. Sadly some diseases are no respecters of age, health or status.
Terrible news for the man and family, genuine thoughts and affection with them and good luck to them.

So sad. Being not of a medical mind i googled it and 90% die within 2 years and the other 10% within 5. Very rarely someone beats the odds. Ala Steven hawking. Let's pray Rob does as well.

Yes this must be devastating for Rob and for the RL community to pick up this news about him as he is a very decent bloke.

Let's hope there may be medical breakthroughs in the next year or so !

Let's hopefully keep the faith for Rob and his family !

Such a shame genuinely nice bloke. Lost a friend to the illness a few years ago. All the luck in the world Rob keep fighting and all our good wishes are with you and your family.

Absolutely tragic. Really feel for him and his family. Very moving piece on itv calander. I sadly lost my brother at 44 not to this horrible disease but leukaemia and fully understand the impact this will have on him is family and close friends.

Fight hard Rob

Even though he played for Leeds, it would be good if Cas made the 23rd March home game vs Leeds a charity fundraiser for Rob. He's a Cas lad and I'm sure it would help pack the stadium and get some significant cash raised.

Heart braking news for Rob and his family, so sad. His interview with Tania Arnold was a tough watch and watching it puts so much other stuff that winds us up in our daily lives in perspective. Keep fighting like you always have done Rob. A true legend of the game and a great bloke too.

Terribly sad. Great player and man. He will give it a hell of a fight that's for sure, the fundraiser call is a great shout, club rivalries are well and truly put aside and I'm sure the RL family will come together for one of our own.

Surely they need to name something after him. Like Rob Burrow young player of the year?

I echo all the sentiments on this forum. A little man with a big heart who reminded me of the late Roger Millward, too small to tackle effectively and had great pace. I agree that the home match with Leeds should
be dedicated to him financially. Fight on little man.
