Ashes Tour 2020

Post by Tamworth Tiger » 07 Nov 2019, 09:34

First two tests at Leeds (Elland Road) and Bolton
Interesting choice of time and venue for the decider 5.30 pm on a Saturday at Tottenham Hotspur’s ground

I get the feeling any test match in London is aimed at the many Aussies that seem to be everywhere down there.

Make sure you take a bank or credit card as it’s a fully cashless stadium

Yeah, it is. Also has the ability to pour 1,000,000 pints over the course of a football match so the beer swilling rugby fans will be sorted.

Rugby League is a sport going nowhere... well correction it’s going backwards. Once again these tests will be broadcast with a backdrop of masses of empty seats, and as for holding the final test at a 60,000+ stadium 200 miles away from any interest for what is certain to be a dead rubber, madness.

We can’t get close to filling Wembley for the Challenge Cup Final, Old Trafford is not full for supposedly the biggest game of the year and Magic weekend struggles to get over 50k for 6 matches!

Personally, Headingley, St Helens and Hull or a similar combination would have been my choice.

Oh Alfie boy, you do talk crap. The lowest attendance over the 13 editions of MW has been 52,000 at Edinburgh. So if every edition has had that figure and up it hardly “struggles to get over 50,000”. Then again, don’t let facts get in the way 😂😂😂

Ok then staggers over the 60k mark for 6 matches. Happy?

My point still stands rugby league is going no where

Hopefully by then, we have an Englishman in charge. Whether it be Wane, Powell, Watson or other.

It's at elland Road, it would make it a very compact game, to move the posts, but great for wingers!
