Anyone else would have been hung drawn and quartered. But hey it's Leeds. Sometimes I think this game we love is slowly turning into a farce. I could go on forever but my finger would probably drop off.

Once again the perpetrators effectively get away with breaking the rules by cheating, possibly at the expense of another team.

I think it's time the RFL/SL introduced a 6-10 point reduction for any first-time breach and then demotion for follow-up offences.

If they breached of the cap in 2018, how can they not have done so in 2019 also?
I don’t remember anyone if note leaving at the end of 2018, yet they then signed Merrin (who we know will have counted as 150k on the cap) and Hurrell (who we know will have counted as 150k on the cap).
Add that to Lolohea, who won’t have come for peanuts, and common sense says that if they were over in 2018, they are likely to be over in 2019 too.

MaGuire left at the end of 2017.
Even factoring in Galloway, surely a squad that goes from 0 marquee players to 2 marquee players (so 300k on the salary cap) plus another big-money signing in Lolohea cannot be spending less?

Didn't Cas get away with an administrative error as an excuse when we got back in to SL from the national league back in 2005 when we over spent?

An admin error is very different from trying to hide payments to players from the auditors because you know it takes you over the cap.

Exactly. GH "we paid the players but didn't submit the paper work to the RFL until the end of season". Hardly an admin error, more like they knew exactly what they were doing..... cheating

It's cheating but a monetary loss does not deter money rich teams. We miscalculated £5k, they miscalculated £55k which halfway through the season might be a very good player.

My major gripe is the time its taken to find the cheating in what is supposed to be a "live" cap.

Wigan were allowed to lie to break the cap back in the day, saying they could afford fielden and dobson. Also get radlinski playing for free. We were relegated that year, when a points deduction would have saved us. We were refused to register a player as they didn't think we could get under the cap. So it's a "live" cap for some but not others.

No doubt they'll look at changing the rules after the horse has bolted. Just like they'll do for Derby County having bought their ground from themselves to allow greater spending on the ffp.

It stinks and well run clubs are punished. With a measly 1 point deduction the rhinos would have been in the million pound game.

The biggest problem with change is the fact it owuld have to be voted upon by the clubs themselves and turkeys don't vote for Christmas.

Hollow words, cheating then saved the club potential relegation the points can't be deducted for the 2018 season as its gone. They've waited just long enough to announce it so they can't deduct it from 2019 as London have sold all their players and this can't be undone.

It's funny how it takes over a year to be dealt with and they try to hide it in between the inaugural 9s competition and the highly promoted reforming of the GB tour.

Yet the zak thing was front and centre, in every paper and outlet days before our biggest match. Strange that.

RL is so bent its embarrassing.
