'Ey up, Childs is evening up the penalty count!
Re: Saints v Castleford [Playoffs R1]
The most puzzling thing for me so far is why Saints felt the need to take the drop goal.
It's going to be comfortable. I took Saints at -8, I don't normally back against Cas but when the bookies make a blatant error you have to take advantage.
We haven't played well in weeks.

You can't blame the ref for this game. Dodgy calls? maybe would we win without the dodgy calls? not a chance. Our kicking game is terrible and we are playing panic rugby. Play-offs is all about composure and making the right calls without panicking which is exactly what saints have done.

They are ultra professional, and have big game experience, which we are getting albeit painfullyalftupper wrote:The most puzzling thing for me so far is why Saints felt the need to take the drop goal.

Brian Carney 'you have to go back a long long way since Cas put in a good performance in Super League' too true Brian
It's been a great season and we managed to flatter to deceive for maybe 5 or 6 months but we've looked ordinary for a number of weeks now.

The Wembley final and finishing fourth was our pinnacle. But that's still better than 12th or relegation. COYF!alftupper wrote:Brian Carney 'you have to go back a long long way since Cas put in a good performance in Super League' too true Brian

I agree it's been a fantastic season but it's gone on too long for us to sustain our performances which have been on the downward trend for weeks. I forecast another uncompetive defeat next week.

Nilled says it all
Re: Saints v Castleford [Playoffs R1]
Utterly pathetic performance, we were lucky to get nil. We are proving to be out of our depth at this level of competition.
Re: Saints v Castleford [Playoffs R1]
Totally agree, flattered to deceive for a long time and when it has mattered our so called star players, Huby, Clarke et al haven't cut it.

Yep at least we get our season over and done with and can try to use the off season to fix up the Wembley blues....

We weren't as bad as the scoreline makes out we were.

Interesting comment by Powell about the impact of the cup final on our performances, and Leeds too
Whilst I expect Leeds to come good again, thinking about it, I think that we've had better results than them since Wembley

Re: Saints v Castleford [Playoffs R1]
Yeah, I'll give them the first try, but next 3 had a forward pass, a ball steal that wasn't and Luke Dorn tackled before he had chance to catch the ball.... Second half we'd already lost.the machine wrote:You believe that?GThornton wrote:We weren't as bad as the scoreline makes out we were.
