Mc Lelland ?
Re: McLelland
Probably a signing behind Radford back. Cant see him going for this. Heard he wanted Sneyd who was keen to come.

Re: McLelland
So, Leeds sign Aiden Sezer and we take an ex Cas Academy lad back from Leeds, who can’t get game time there and who chose to go to them rather than back to us when it didn’t work out for him chasing the money in Union? Don’t think so - that’s a [REMOVED] take! We need an experienced half that ain’t gonna go missing in the big games or when the going gets a little tough.
Mc Lelland ?
serious about RL report we are going to sign him, When him and Trueman played together i always thought he was the best in the two

Re: McLelland
i too thought mcllelland was at least on par with trueman when they were in the academy. if he had stayed around under powell it could have been so different for him. surprised at leeds though as sezer, gale and myler are all well into their 30's

You not fancy reading other thread on here?
Re: McLelland
If you look at the top end of Super League, all the teams up there have an experienced 6 or 7 that can manage a game, or in the case of Catalans both Maloney and Drinkwater, so they have both who can. Now Leeds have Sezer and Gale
In our most successful season of recent years, we had Gale and Roberts.
I'm not against developing a young halfback such as Trueman OR McLelland, and I think O'Brien is OK as a back-up but if we want to compete with the best we need to invest in a halfback with a bit of star quality, probably from the NRL or a South-sea Islander or even from one of the Aus feeder teams.
Surely Radford has contacts to find one of these players. If not, why not ask someone like Vowles for a recommendation.
I'm very underwhelmed if we have re-signed McLelland as I cant see success with any combination of Trueman, O'Brien and McLelland in the halves

Which is why it won't happen and we're associated with the likes of McC.LeagueLeaders wrote: ↑20 Jul 2021, 16:29What a signing that would be. Sneyd was great in his time at Cas and was gutted to see him go. Doesn't go missing in big games either

He was garbage in the 2014 CC final to such a extent Powelly yanked him offLeagueLeaders wrote: ↑20 Jul 2021, 16:29What a signing that would be. Sneyd was great in his time at Cas and was gutted to see him go. Doesn't go missing in big games either

I agree that we need someone to boss the team around the park. Gale was the master at this: Gobby and decisive. He'd take the defensive line on and struck fear into them. Sadly neither Richardson or Trueman do this enough.
Thats what we need in my view, someone with the strength of character and purpose like Gale, Andy Gregory, Bobbie Goulding. Whether that's part of Mclelland' game, time will tell.

Yeah the 2014 final was 7 years ago and he's only gotten smarter since. I think he'd bring a lot of structure and consistency to our halves which we desperately need

Very poor if true. Need proven quality. He had been shipped on everywhere he has been.
Fortunately it's a Callum Walker story so we can put it to bed.

Re: Mc Lelland ?
He was a cas lad who moved to Warrington and then To Leeds and now back home after learning his trait on someone else’s dime . Good move. No disrespect but he’s probably better than someone we have and has the local lad mentality to notch up a level or 3?
