Re: Hardacre
The reality is that if he signed everyone would get behind him like they always do. There were strong feelings against Radford just a few weeks ago. Now he’s definitely our next coach, I’m not seeing that.dettoriman wrote: ↑07 Jul 2021, 07:56 I understand people saying no, But you’re really cutting your nose to spite your face.
We don’t have any centres knocking on the door from the academy, And that’s one area he has covered with no problem
However his best position is undoubtably fullback. Their aren’t many better than him when he’s fully fit.
The key issue with this for me will be wages. If it’s to be 100k + a year. I’d think we could sign a specialist for cheaper. However. Depending on these demands. You would snap him up on playing ability.
For me if the opportunity arises to sign a player of his quality - You explore it.
Same with Hardaker, once he pulls the jersey on again particularly if showing recent form.

Re: Hardacre
Say Zak did sign we would be looking at the strongest back line we’ve had In years.
1 Evalds
2 Faraimo
3 Mamo
4 Hardaker
5 Feki/olpherts

Re: Hardacre
Think the main issue we may have
Zak is a full back - And wants to play full back.
I’ve absolutely no doubt he’s on the move somewhere. And I always say if you get the chance to sign a player of his quality. You do.
Convincing him to play centre should be a fairly simple task. Safe to say we aren’t the only ones who may be interested in him though.

Re: Hardacre
Brad Graham is an out and out centre. With Mamo and Sutcliffe expected, he wont be centre.dettoriman wrote: ↑07 Jul 2021, 07:56 I understand people saying no, But you’re really cutting your nose to spite your face.

I agree it should be e explored but he owes us some of the transfer fee we paid for him.
Re: Hardacre
I agree with what TT and Mr Rugby have put above the thing about Radford in the short time he's been putting the squad together for the coming seasons with obviously the clubs help hes been able to get deals done
Westerman and Mamo have been two of the form players in SL this season and he got them both to sign on the dotted line for Cas
We will have a very strong squad for next season if we could get Zak in to play in the centres it would get a fair bit stronger

Re: Hardacre
I noticed Bevan French is staying at the Piedome next year. Probably as first choice full back. If the ZH to Cas rumour is true wouldn't that leave Wigan short of centres also with Gildart going to the NRL?
I've just got a feeling that with Wembley coming soon these type of rumours are manufactured with one purpose in mind - to deflect attention from the current squad.

We shall wait and see
Re: Hardacre
A bit out in left field, but here goes. Now KR have confirmed Coote for next season maybe St Helens are looking to part ways with some money for a young talented fullback like Evalds leaving the door open for Cas to sign Hardaker. I know Evalds only signed an extension recently, but stranger things have happened in Rugby League

Re: Hardacre
Hardaker is full-back for me and we already have one. Stop looking backwards, Zac had his chance and blew it. Evalds is our full-back and it should stay that way.
If we need a centre let go out and sign a centre. That is not Zac Hardaker.

Re: Hardacre
He isn’t comping back to Cas unless it’s some kind of deal for them to have Trueman.

Re: Hardacre
We already have a fullback, if we didn’t then I’d be all for taking him if he was available. Zak is a fullback who’s been playing at centre, we need an out and out centre not a makeshift one.

Re: Hardacre
Disagree, I'd swap him for Shenton in a heartbeat.derbystiger wrote: ↑07 Jul 2021, 23:11 We already have a fullback, if we didn’t then I’d be all for taking him if he was available. Zak is a fullback who’s been playing at centre, we need an out and out centre not a makeshift one.
Re: Hardacre
I agree derbystiger. Scroll through various threads on here and you’ll find a million and one posts of supporters complaining about us playing players out of position. Sign a centre to play centre, it isn’t rocket science, is it?derbystiger wrote: ↑07 Jul 2021, 23:11 We already have a fullback, if we didn’t then I’d be all for taking him if he was available. Re: Hardacre
Yes he played centre in the NRL I'd be more than happy to see him play centre for us but can't see Wigan letting him gowesterbeast73 wrote: ↑07 Jul 2021, 23:49Disagree, I'd swap him for Shenton in a heartbeat.derbystiger wrote: ↑07 Jul 2021, 23:11 We already have a fullback, if we didn’t then I’d be all for taking him if he was available. Re: Hardacre
my biggest worry is as the lad grown up yet coming back over here with his old friends would he get back to his old tricks ? for me i would look else ware and not take the risk we have had our fingers burnt once by ZAK
Re: Hardacre
Handle him with Asbestos gloves. He would be a good addition to our squad but as stated you just can't trust him. Back on his old hunting ground the wheels are sure to come off.

Re: Hardacre
Well, in the unlikely event we do sign him to play out of position, any wrongdoings and I'm sure Radders would happily knock him out.
