Re: Joey Leilua
From what it says in there I would be hugely surprised if we have any chance.
Wage bill looks ridiculous.
Talks of missing family in Canberra during lockdown at Wests- so an overseas move not likely solution.
Plus do we have any pulling power? Unless Radford has more clout than I know and we were prepared to go marquee route (but again, as mentioned elsewhere, our stance on marquee was with the caveat of having 9k average). Plus if we went marquee I think we should be looking at a scrum half to throw big money at.
Re: Joey Leilua
Reading that and reading between the lines sounds like a bad attitude I wouldn't want him even if we could afford him.
what doesn't kill me simply makes me...stranger.

I've never been a fan of the marquee signing. Imo it creates unrest in the camp when somebody is earning a huge amount more than anyone else.

Re: Joey Leilua
It's only a marquee player if you can't fit it into the salary cap. If wire can fit in Inglis we should be able to get a couple of centres in easy. Inglis was getting over a million dollars in his last season.

Re: Joey Leilua
I know obviously this one won't be true but I have seen that players like him and Dugan etc are being offered to super league clubs. Any guesses where they'll end up? (Don't mind me trying to start a discussion cos rumours are boring at the moment )

Re: Joey Leilua
I'm sure Fev do a squad builder, a bit like Bradford do, where members/fans pay in to a scheme that then allows costs for the academy and signings. Not sure how much they would have needed to raise, but obviously helped towards it.LeagueLeaders wrote: ↑23 Nov 2021, 18:51How have they done that then???Anglo wrote: ↑23 Nov 2021, 14:47Correct - he's going to Fev!LeagueLeaders wrote: ↑11 Jun 2021, 23:04 keep dreaming. Re: Joey Leilua
An unbelievable signing. Well done to fev.
I do wonder what the tipping point in his crowd value is. Is he going to add 1k or 2k to the crowd to make it profitable or is it about promotion? Both would be great for them, neither might break them.
We could sign Tedesco or Pongia, can't see it adding more than 1k to our crowds.
